  3. I LIVE IN BULGARIA NOW officially the most corrupt country in the EU - Is the UK more corrupt than Bulgaria - YES... and no... The corruption in the UK is on a MUCH BIGGER level, its more institutionalised, and its mostly been legalised - eg. Here there is no such thing as "lobbying" - its an illegal activity, it happens, but its illegal. The UK get around that by making it a "respected profession". So the sheer SCALE of the corruption is off the charts in the UK comp BG. BUT the small scale day to day corruption by low-level officials does not exist in the UK. I was evicted whilst in hospital cos the landlord bribes a court official to schedule the hearing immediately, I did not show - cos I was in hospital - arrived home to an eviction notice. This sort of thing happens on a daily basis here. Not in the UK. So the UK is WAY more corrupt at the top, and nothing like as corrupt at the bottom.
