My sister was caught speeding as she came into her village. Her GPS shows she was over the limit for 6 seconds as she was breaking. She is contesting it on the ground 6 seconds is a LOT less than 10 minutes. Cos apparently that is the new standard.

@tomfinney3416 - Well my viewpoint on this is complicated. 1) I think all cars should be fitted with GPS speed limiters so you CAN NOT speed. this would make driving way less stressful and would remove the need for horrible speed signs and revenue-generating speed cameras everywhere. People might scream about personal freedom but the type that would are the ones that always scream about personal freedom... 2) I've been caught at this speed trap and it IS a trap, its outside the village coming up to a roundabout, you have to be slowing anyway for the roundabout and your attention is naturally ON the ROUNDABOUT and the change of speed from 60 to 30 is about 200 yards further back than you would anticipate and it is in a none residential area, you are driving through fields at this point - with no footpaths and its NOT an accident blackspot. 3) The purpose of this speed trap is REVENUE. This is on the main road from West Yorkshire to the coastal resorts of Whitby, Bridlington, Scarborough etc so in summer you have thousands of cars a dau on here and they park a speeding camera van behind the sign and just book people all day long every day - it makes millions £££ 4) It has not been there for 2 years cos of lockdown, so my sister forgot about it and she got caught. 5) IN SUMMARY - Im on my sisters side on THIS one cos this is PURELY a revenue-generating tool, it is to fine tourists on the way to the coast, there is NO NEED for it to be a 30 zone it never was a 30 zone before, you are breaking anyway at this point and I think all of this BS should be removed and cars should be GPS limited.
