This was MY understanding - you can tell me if I am correct or wrong :-D NOT A HOPE IN HELL the UK relies on France to provide Base Load Regulation [it was cheaper than investing] - France is prioritising domestic and EU over the winter SO - the only way the UK has to maintain baseload regulation is 1) geographical brownouts/blackouts to keep the other bits at 230v50hz OR 2) Rationing at peak times to AVOID brown/black outs - rationing will be prefered as it does NOT have "winter of discontent" overtones. Rationing = war and they can swing that with Ukraine

AT THE RISK of being a right wanker - there literally is Ferrari rationing, they wont sell you a car unless you have owned 2 second-hand Ferraris

@stephanguitar9778 - My uncle was a senior manager in the GPO which became BT. He was an ordinary chap living in a 3 bedroom semi for his 15 years before privatisation. 2 years after privatisation he moved to a 5 bedroomed detached house overlooking a lake and 10 years later moved to an 8 bedroomed farm hose in the Peak District which they laughingly referred to as "The cottage". His company car went from a Granada to a Range Rover AND a Jaguar. Privatisation - what a success...

@MelkorPT - HAHAHHAHA They just buy the old Mondials which everyone hates, I quite liked the Mondial. Every working Mondial must now have about 143 "past keepers" on the V5 LOL

@DavidMoxham957 - I absolutely 100% agree. I honestly can not see the govt making it through the winter. Burning cities, burning mansions, general strikes - the billionaires will demand change. The mistake this lot have made, that Thatcher never made, they have NOT kept the police on their side. The police wont be breaking up RMT strikes like they did miners' strikes... They wont be rushing to stop people setting fire to billionaires' mansions when THEY are going home to freezing houses and hungry kids.

@malcolmwilkinson4449 - I know the big coal plants were very good a grid stabilization as you literally had hundreds of tones of rotating turbine shaft with vast amounts of kinetic energy in it that allowed you to maintain 50hz whilst you increased the steam production. Im guessing the opposite is true of the smaller gas plants, they get dragged down quite quickly with spikes in demand. On a separate note - its the same with every aspect of the UK - we have "just in time'd" everything cos its cheaper than investing. No gas storage cos it was cheaper to get it as needed from Russia, warehousing is not on ships in the sea on its way here instead of at the factory... Its great for increasing profits - until it goes wrong and people suffer.

@DavidMoxham957 - EXACTLY - not a clever move for the wannabe fascist party... NO1 rule of fascism, keep the police on side.
