  2.  @ChJuHu93  - No im not saying that. And that is not the situation. YOU can buy a farm, you can farm it, you can leave it to your children in your will, it passes just like property. But if there is a crisis the government can evict you and allow people to farm that land as subsistence farmers - for example... More importantly, if a load of the farmland is bought up by say China and there is a crisis, the govt can take back the title and let local farmers farm the land to ensure the food is NOT being exported whilst people starve. You never own the ACTUAL LAND, only the right to farm it. And it has already worked in some areas where Russian oligarchs bought up land as investments, did nothing with it, it went fallow and local people just started farming it as small holdings and after 2 year [I think that's the time] they can apply for the deeds to the land. It is designed to ensure food supply for the people of Bulgaria.

  3.  @ChJuHu93  - ABSOLUTELY IT IS NOT THE NORM. In the UK, USA, most countries if China buys the land, they own the physical soil and rocks and trees and whatever. China and US Billionaires are about to pounce on the UK and buy up all the farmland [cos idiotic Brexit and crazy trade deals that will bankrupt farmers] and that land is GONE. YES the government could force a sale to the government at market value. But they cant just ell China to get stuffed go away we need the food for our people... SO the UK could be starving and China could be shipping the grain farmed in the UK out of the UK to feed their people and there is nothing the UK Gove could do about it. Im most counties you own the mining rights to the minerals UNDER the land as well.
