@stephenthomas3085 - I have no idea. I have not lived there for 12 years - I just looked up the average full time salary for a waiter on google and it said £20k. It did sound high...

And HGV driver £32k - ok - 12 X your salary - what mortgage company gives you 12 X your salary to buy a house?????????? There is no way on gods earth a HGV driver is buying a house in Linton.

@rob4146 - Yeah - if you did it 8 hours a day 5 days a week ALL YEAR you'd be close to the £20k but not if its seasonal... And don't worry - I know I am lucky, 33ºC here today, which is nice cos it was 43ºC last month and that was too much. My neighbour just brought me some veg from their garden - I NEVER take it for granted.

@davidcooks2379 - NO you do not have a housing shortage - there are 680,000 empty houses in England alone. YOU HAVE A WAGE CRISIS not a housing crisis. 25 years ago an average salary was 40% of an average house - NOW it is 14% of an average house. The insanely low wages are masked by cheap plastic sh!t from China and cheap processed food. EVERYONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO AFFORD A HOUSE.
