Dude - i moved to Bulgaria in 2009, it was horses pulling carts on dirt roads. Its now new BMW's on glass smooth highways - the EU did that for you. I mean I loved the old Bulgaria - it was like going back in time. But the country is unrecognisable now.

@adRatar 15 years I have lived in Bulgaria and one thing I have noticed is 30% of the population LOVE to be miserable [you lot in this comments section], they enjoy their misery, if you took away their misery- they would be lost, their misery gives them purpose in life. "Im miserable therefore I am [Bulgarian]" 15 years ago it was "Let's all praise the literal mafia who run my city and make driving a Lada our top priority! After all that's what life is all about - a working Lada with some CHALGA blasting through the windows, and bribing the police every 5km" But Im with you - I want the old Bulgaria back where wages were 400 leva a month and my food for the week was 10 leva, the mental driving and the cute horses and carts - I LOVED that. I rented a 200m2 villa with pool for 400 leva - BRING BACK THE PAST. But I would have thought most people in Bulgaria would prefer it as it is now - but I cant tell cos you moan about it just as much now as you did 15 years ago...! PEACE 😀

@georgimihaylov5432 Well Im not talking about that - but if that's the worst road and its quite good then ergo all the other highways are better...!!

@adRatar Actually - I agree. I am not a globalist, or a capitalist. I want a new form of modern communism [socialism]. I want countries to have individual identity and not just be Am3ric4n chain stores and tech platforms [but I am not a nationalist]. I am pro EU but I do believe they are too prescriptive - the EU should look after continent level stuff like continental defence, like trade deals, life large scientific research projects etc. All joking aside - I genuinely miss the old Bulgaria, it was MORE "Bulgarian". Bulgaria has lost some of its character in modernising - that said, Bulgaria has done a very good job of modernising without Am3ric4nizing in a way that Western Europe never managed and Britian absolutely failed to do. Britian imported every bad thing it could from Am3ric4. Bulgaria seems to be resisting that. Id give Bulgaria a 7/10 for its efforts in modernising - its doing quite well.
