@genaroguerrero9228 - I now live in ex-communist Bulgaria, every year that goes by I am becoming more of a communist than a capitalist. And things like this are pushing me that way as well as learning more and more about what it was really like and appreciating that the reason this place is so nice to live in, is by design. The design of a society built FOR THE PEOPLE, not built for the rich.

@ApriliaRacer14 - How do you know I will be far worse under communism?? I live in voluntary poverty on $600 a month and donate my time to help people recovery from severe depression. I would not need to donate 4 hours a day to stopping people committing suicide if their lives were not so utterly shit as a result of un regulated capitalism. BTW - 95% of the people I help are in America...

@kazykamakaze131 - Yeah - you need to look up the definition of communism and the definition of dictatorship - you are conflating the two. . You also need to stop believing this 200m number, which is not quoted by anyone. The number you are looking for is 100m which was quoted by one guy in a book and his maths is utter bunk - he included 20 million people who were not yet born, but as their parents were dead they would not live so should be included. He was just a nutter. Communism is an economic model, it has absolutely nothing to do with killing people in any way shape or form, quite the opposite, it is about looking after people. Dictators are bad, they kill people, millions of people. Correlation is NOT causation. What you think you know as a westerner about communism has almost nothing to do with communism. and this is NOT your fault, none of us have any idea about the realities of communism in the west - yeah, shocker. We were lied to, it was nothing like we were told, at all. The dictatorship bit was WAY worse than you would ever imagine. And the living conditions and standards of living etc as well as the general level of happiness etc were WAY higher.

@legotechnic1314 - Sounds like you have just described the USA to me. Cos 85% of people here own their own home with no mortgage, 50% own a second home in a village. They have healthcare free at the point of need, they get 2 years parental leave if they have a kid, if they have a kid under school age hot food is delivered to their door every morning, we don't have homeless people, houses are super affordable, the rent on my beach front apartment is $130 a month. All fo these things are a hang over from communism and all of these things benefit the average person. How much is your mortgage or rent??? for most people here it is $0 Do you own a holiday home in a village? Almost everyone here does... And the economic instability you talk of - would this be the economic instability deliberately induced in these countries by the USA??? cos that is the source of the "economic instability" communist countries suffered...

BTW - most people here would prefer to go back to communism - they are not " benefiting from many of the system's virtues". For the vast majority life was better under communism.

@legotechnic1314 - 6 Years ago I had a net worth of $8 million as the largest Gold level Amazon seller in the country. I now choose to live in voluntary poverty - I don't desire self-determination or mobility. I desire to live in a more just and equal society. BTW - the economic system of communism does not in any way dictate a small group of people are given unilateral power. That was centralisation due to it being a dictatorship. You can have centralises or distributed communism and actually - Bulgaria was largely a distributed communist system. And why should people sort out the problems of the capitalist system? Why should they not be allowed to go back tot he system they had for 70 years if they want to? Why should the people of Bulgaria fix the problems a capitalist system has created in their county? Who are you to tell them that is what they should do?? I don't tell them what they should do and I have lived here 12 years, but still regard it as their country and their decision.
