No, they don't, it's an illusion that they make your life easier, where I live in my country we don't have Amazon, but we have a very busy bustling High Street everywhere. Everything I want is available within 400 yards of my apartment. Including social interaction, with other human beings, the care about my existence. Which is why my country has the lowest level of mental health problems in Europe, and Europe has vastly lower than America.
Amazon has spent billions convincing you that they make your life easier, they don't. They make your life, immeasurably worse, but you can't see it because you don't live the alternative life. Your alternative to Amazon is driving 45 minutes to a store that doesn't have the thing you want. That's not the alternative to Amazon.
