  1. Im a Brit - I have travelled in 53 countries in my life and when I was choosing where to live the USA was 50th out of 53 - firmly in the ABSOLUTELY NOT category. Incidentally, I choose Bulgaria, that was 12 years ago and I have not regretted my decision at all.

  3. @L L - What a lovely comment - and yes you are correct. It is the media that fixate on the bad. I have encountered one piece of violence in the last 40 years here in Europe. It happened to be against me and it was pretty random, I was mugged. Apart from that I encounter great kindness every day from the people here in Bulgaria.
