cars definitely peaked in the 1990's I've had S Class Mercedes from the 80's 90's 200' and 2010's and the W140 [94->] was hands down THE BEST, no notes. The build quality, the reliabilility, the luxury, the comfort - it is literally the best car I have ever owned. Ther 2012 S Class coupe was so bad I GAVE it away 3 years ago as a none runner.

THIS IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH THE CUBERTRUCK In 2019 a post-apocalyptic looking truck was super cool BUT one global pandemic, a global recession, spiralling food prices, a war in Europe and a Genocide later - we are living in the apocalypse and it SUCKS...!!! No one wants reminding how bad things are, and if they do they want a truck that can genuinely cope post-apocalypse and that is a 1990 mechanical fuel injection Deisel.

WHEN THE CUBERTRUCK WAS UNVAILED it was cool and dystopian - but then dystopia ARRIVED with a pandemic, a war in Europe and another in the Middle East and it turned out dysphoria was NOT as fun as we thought it might be. Suddenly the Cybertruck is NOT a fantasy design of the future - its a reminder of how sh!tty things are today, and we dont want that.

A Mercedes-AMG CLA45 S With its 2.0-liter engine generating 416 Bhp and 354 lb-ft thats MORE than my 2012 S Class coupe had with a 5L V8 European engines are astonishingly powerful even in small cars. Am3ri4an cars are badly made and use out dated technology - why do you think there are 100% tariffs on Chinese cars - to STOP you from having a 50mpg 200 Bhp $28k suv with leather interior and electric seats.

@RingworldTyrant I totally agree. Im British and the British have a similar work culture to the US, not as extreme, but similar. I moved to Bulgaria - NO ONE has a "work ethic" in Bulgaria, when I moved here I thought they were lazy. NO - they just dont work for FREE. A good Bulgarian father is at home at 5.30 and in the park playing with his kids. Ironically for an ex-communist country, they believe propaganda way less than we do LOL.

THATS NOT WHAT THE EPA DID jees dude - I'm European and even I know the EPA situation better than you. The EPA put in a calculation for pickup trucks that was intended to increase the efficiency of the domestic use truck but NOT overly penalise the commercial guys who need BIG trucks for work - co they were told through lobbying this would affect the economy. The UNINTENDED and UNFORSEEN consequence was manufacturers moved consumers to giant trucks by stoping making smaller trucks in order to avoid having to meet the new regulations. This has the side benefit for the MANUFACTURERS of allowing them to double the price of trucks. YOU CAN make a small 2L truck but you HAVE to make it fuel efficient - the US companies simply WONT do that. They would prefer to sell you a $70k truck. ITS NOT THE EPA and in as much as it is - its an unexpected mistake. The foreign small trucks DO meet the standard but they are banned for import...!!!

@a.wadderphiltyr1559 Im not talking about pickup trucks - Im on about the EPA legislation for automobiles in general. the way they are written means instead of innovating for efficiency you can just make it bigger and comply. You cant do this i the EU which is why my sisters 4 door car gets 68mpg

@RingworldTyrant We do - but they are work trucks like they used to be in the US 25 years ago. My sister has a Toyota HiLux cos she has horses and needs to lug round bails around and stuff. They dont get the safety and emissions exemptions like they do in the US - so you have to want one for work or REALLY badly.

@RingworldTyrant Yeah we have a very clear cultural separation between work and home life and a truck is a WORK vehicle, its a thing your company pays for or you have cos you have animals, or you are self employed but at the end of the day you get in a car [or increasingly an SUV sadly] when you go out of an evening or weekend.
