THIS IS A BREXIT BENEFIT CUTTING RED TAPE the law on board ship is the law of the country they are registered in so they have NO employment rights if the ferry is registered in a country that does not provide them. Whilst in the EU ferries could NOT do this, they had to register in a country the ferry serviced. A friend of mine left the ferry industry over this.

QUOTE: Flag State Regulatory Control A ship's flag state exercises regulatory control over the vessel and is required by international agreements to inspect the vessel regularly, certify the ship's equipment and crew contracts and issue safety and environmental protection documents.
