@minsapint8007 This was my comment: WOW - WAIT TILL THEY REALISE ENGLISH WAGES are among the lowest in the developed world. Anaesthetist nurses get $320k a year in America and they cant keep them even at that price. Car mechanic gets $100k. UPS driver gets $100k. Same story in Australia and only slightly lower in the EU. ~~~~~ I live in Bulgaria, even the people I know who went to the UK to work 10 years ago are starting to return as the salaries are higher over here and the cost of living much lower. I just took on a cleaner as I Have a heart condition and I am paying £12.50 an hour, which is the mean going rate.

@jackkruese4258 I think it's important to say - Im British. But the wages in Britain now are utterly horrific. The wealth inequality in the USA is staggering, but the UK is FAST approaching these levels. Ive not lived in the UK since 2009 and wages have simply not gone up. I saw my old job advertised mid last year £52k. I was paid £65k. In the USA auto workers are asking for 45% increase. UPS workers just got 42%. Doc workers got 35%, meanwhile in the UK people are being called greedy for asking for 11%. Poop people in the UK are now about as poor as the USA more or less i.e. VERY POOR. But the top 10% in the UK are only unbelievably wealthy not out of this world's grotesquely wealthy like the USA. BUT the middle 50% is the USA is vastly better off than the middle 50% in the UK. This said - I DO NOT think the UK should be looking to emulate the USA.
