ACTUALLY - the UK stopped the manufacture of RAAC in 1982 cos it was sh!t - the Thatcher govt deregulated the buildings industry and in 1985 RAAC was allowed for use in public buildings [BS-8110-Part 3] as a cheap way for private contractors to build public buildings profitably. the size in the 70's was 750x1200mm this was increased in 1985 to 1200x6000mm We have known this was an issue for 40 years, structural engineers lodged protests at the time saying it was unsuitable. I encourage EVERYONE to read up on this, none of this was unknown in the industry. The information is very easy to find.
