  2. WE SHOULD NEVER LET KNOWLEDGE DIE OUT The privatized water companies in Britain fired the guys that walked the hills cleaning out the drainage ditches that fill the reservoirs. Cheaper to do it by machine. Only 25 years later and the hills are eroding and the drainage ditches have been washed away so the UK has droughts even in years of plentiful rain. The old guys did SOMETHING else, but no one knows what and they are all dead. The govt is having to pay for trials of different techniques to try and rediscover the lost knowledge... We should never let knowledge just die out.
