  2. Here in the EU they are not - and we all think your system is utterly crazy, the most obviously corrupt thing you could come up with. Whilst we have very varying levels of trust in the police over here, we generally have a lot of trust in the judges, I literally can not remember a sentence being questioned.

  3. I used to have a business making luxury garden buildings for rich people - I can confirm the "my cousin could have done that for free" argument is the norm. My business was a truly terrible business model - making one-off buildings for rich people who all somehow defined their superiority by how much they can screw around poor people and then not pay them

  4. THIS IS A FAILING OF AM3RIC4N SOCIETY in my country that kids would have had a dozen neighbours who talked to him and cared about him. Every school has a child psychologist on site, large schools have one for every 300 kids, meeting and talking with them is just part of school life for our kids. The kid literally wrote a note begging for help, and as a society, YOU FAILED HIM...!!!

You worshipped money and celebrity - so you didn't hold the rich and famous accountable. Elon Musk is obviously running a Ponzi scheme - yet you keep worshipping him.   6.  @lukehawksbee  - Happy to its Dr Eleanor Janega's podcast called "We're Not So Different" which is technically about life in Medievil times but they do a 20 episode detour through "Historical Materialism", which is the opposite view of history to "The Great Man" theory and its fascinating. Great man theory says "Lots of clever men invented things in England and Industrial Revolution" Historical materialism says "millions of peasants thrown off their land provide available workforce + coal near the surface = opportunity for people to exploit this = new inventions = Industrial Revolution" I hope you enjoy it, Its been one for the best series I have listened to.

  21.  @drippycity4135  BAD parents are a fact of life. In a functioning society, the community looks after the children and the local and state governments provide professional services. Being a parent is too big of a job for any two people, even the well-intentioned and especially if they both have to work, this is why the birth rate in the US is 0.8 children per couple. I will never defend these utterly terrible parents, but Am3ric4n society is built around the cult of self and the worship of money. I dont have kids, but I know every child in this apartment block and they know me, they ask me for help with things, I teach them English. I talk to them if they are having a cry.

We all know you lock up black people as slave labor, you don't prosecute rich white people, and all your judicial decisions are political. You have the largest prison population in the world cos you have private prisons that donate to political parties that appoint the judges. Its a tragic f-king joke.
