@PrecioustheMovie1 My ex GF got addicted to meth, I tried to help her - she stole my rent money. I was not even mad, its what addicts do. Expecting an addict to do the right thing is stupid. Loss of the ability to do the right thing is kinda baked into the definition. She stole her kids 9th birthday money and bought meth - you think she WANTED to do that...??? Addicts do bad things because they are addicted.

Also - the only reason you never stole from anyone else is cos you had access to the funds from legitimate sources and/or you were not sufficiently addicted. If you had no way to obtain your addiction without stealing - you would have stolen IF you were sufficiently addicted. " well I had 600$ stolen out of my wallet." exactly dude - you had $600 in your wallet, thats what you never stole off people. Now imagine you are tweaking to the point of hallucinations and you have no money and your mate has $600 in his wallet - trust me - you would steal it. Im not casting aspersions on your character - its the nature of addiction. If I were in that situation Id steal it cos THATS WHAT ADDICTION DOES TO YOU. My ex gf is literally the best person I have ever met. Sex trafficked at 16, escaped, brought a kid up as an amazing single mother. When I suffered brain damage in a mugging she slept in the company office under the desk so she could pop in on a night and check on me, make sure I was ok. She did that for 3 months without me knowing... Yeah - shitty person. Addiction - it turns people into the absolute worst versions of themselves. "I never hurt anybody except myself." trust me - you hurt a lot of people, you are just unaware of it at this point. Im not having a go at you - and I wish you the best, genuinely pleased you got free. But don't be so quick to judge others by your very personal experience.

@IR-Fan QOUTE "if your addiction doesn't cause any extreme harmful effects to either yourself or others" then its not an addiction - the fact it does harm to you or to other is literally part of the definition of an addiction.
