  1.  @michaelngan99  - This is not entirely true, in the west you receive a highly selective account of life in China that is designed to make you feel happier with YOUR life. If the media had told the west the truth of life under communism and not endless propaganda, the west would have had a MASSIVE problem with people demanding communism. Lying to you that you live in "the greatest country on earth" is a standard way of keeping you happy, that necessitates telling you that life in other countries is sh!t. Its not, life in most places is OK.

"can give the economy whiplash" this is true, but the alternative is addicted kids, corporate education, Ponzi schemes, massive unpredicted crashes, massive scams, destruction of your state by social media, failure to believe in reality and things we have not even thought of yet. Tech moves SO quick that you need to be able to stamp out bad actors. If your economy suffers slightly - FINE. Its better than your country collapsing - which is what is happening in the west.
