  8. Im 54 - 1994 I WAS ON £17k basic I was 24 years old telesales person - my 3 bed stone built house cost £30k. That is the same as $55k today My salary with bonuses was £27k - which is $87k. I had a house - a Toyota Supra Twin Turbo [not on finance] - and I was out clubbing 3 nights a week The state of wages to day is utterly shocking. People in the UK think £100k is a very high salary when infact it SHOULD be the average if you take the 1975 or 85 salary and calculate upward

One of the classic communist-era movies here was a comedy taking the P out of the system, it was paid for by the state - they were super liberal on stuff like that here. NEXT DOOR in Romania that would have got you executed. Communism / socialism was incredibly varied across the Soviet block.

ADVICE FROM EUROPE where we don't use AC very much but its 120F here in summer 1) keep the curtains closed all day 2) Afternoon open downstairs window and furthest opposite upstairs window the heat will chimney air through the house 3) DO NOT go out between 12 and 4pm, when you do COVER ALL SKIN with linen and wear a hat 4) Get cold showers every 2 hours 5) Obviously take water with you if you go out but also take a plant sprayer of water with you to spray head and face 6) Walk in the shadow of the buildings 7) Walk pets after dark - it WILL blister their feet 8) SLOW DOWN, stop living the American life and live it at 1/3rd speed 9) Don't eat a lot, it will make you feel terrible 10) Cut out sugar from your diet in all forms. This is going to be a REGULAR thing you will have to deal with and its a LOT easier if you are THIN...!!!

  28. I GET UP WITH THE SUNRISE EVERY MORNING and make my bed, I get a cold shower, I walk my dog and pick up 2 pieces of litter, I put on coffee and do tai chi on the balcony. I dont do this cos I enjoy it, I do it cos it improves my life, my mental health. My life is BETTER for having a strict morning routine.

But in Eastern Europe they really don't DO Christmas - all the shops are opens as usual today, they eat Carp fish not turkey. You could NOT tell its Christmas here unless you went to the city centre where it is very nicely decorated.

So you move to a cheaper country, then an even cheaper country. THEN when there is no where cheaper to go to and the profit has declined to less than bank interest rate - you are BETTER buying property and getting the rent cos worst case you can BORROW at bank interest rate and get a higher than that return and DEFFO get higher than bank SAVINGS rate.

Imagine if almost every European kept a 1000lb Bull in their living room, and every single day bulls accidentally killed our kids. And some kids took the bull to school and it killed and tramples 5 ot 10 kids. And other took the bull to a church and it killed 20 people. And each year 30,000 were killed by bulls. BUT 30% of the population almost literally got a hard-on over bulls!!! >>> They LOVED bulls and took their bull everywhere, even though it terrified other people. And no matter how many people the bulls killed, it was in our CONSTITUTION that we could keep a tell trained cow for milk. But the right-wing nut jobs insisted that a 1000lb psychotic bull was the same as a well-trained cow for milk. so we just accepted our children being killed by bulls cos there is nothing we can do to stop it.
