  1. IM A BRITISH AUTHOR I had to actively learn how to write to include an American audience. You have to write using imperial measurements, using American names for things, and I had to reduce sentence length and not use overly complex words. Also - describe things a lot, you cant assume they know what a vineyard looks like, what a cow smells like, or what it's like to live without the fear of medical debt.
