  1. YES - because the vast majority of modern clothes are such poor quality that they are NOT reusable. So actually a massive problem to these countries. There are literal mountains of synthetic clothing in Africa - cotton and wool low quality is no problem, they will compost them. Its the millions of tomes of cheap synthetic crap they can do nothing with.

  3. @okay - Buy second hand. If a garment is in good enough condition to be sold AGAIN it is of very good quality. Thankfully I live in a country where there is no stigma with second hand clothing - and you can TELL who shops second hand, they are the nicest dressed. Yesterday was the day the local second hand shop gets its new stock. A brand new Audi Q7 pulled up and a expensively dressed mother and daughter got out and lined up for the doors to open...
