  358.  @Hachizukatenzo  - The problem with FB is that it is the objective of the algorithm to increase your time on FB. SO you have very noble intentions, but your noble intentions are time limited and that is antithetical to FB objectives. So FB is constantly - drip drip drip DRIP DRIP feeding you things to engage you in something, anything to keep you there. And given enough time it will find a subject you are "passionate" about - a subject that you will argue about. And then it hones inn on that, it worked out what triggers you and promotes your comments to people who will agree strongly - to re enforce your opinion and to p[eople who will violently and idiotically disagree - in a way that it knows WILL trigger you into a reaction. None of this is by accident - it is constantly trying to keep you - and everyone else - on there as long as possible as many times a day as possible, cos that is the way they make money - getting adverts in front of your face. This is where it differs from forums, or Reddit, or even youtube - the very core of the business model of FB is to create outrage and to radicalise people. Twitter and Instagram and all those are not healthy - but they are nothing like as twisted and perverted as the core of FB's business model - the CO-FOUNDER has publically warned Zuckerburg that he has to stop this, it is destroying society - but Zuckerburg is a sociopath with a messiah complex and will not listen. FB stands in a league of its own fort evilness. P.S. Only superficial narcissists have moved to IG / TicTok /etc. The really dangerous narcissists use FB as there is way more opportunity for interaction and narcs need interaction to forge a bond with people in order to manipulate them and obtain what we call "narcissistic supply". I literally NEVER get asked to help with a problem with a narcissist on any social media platform except FB. Posting 50,000 pictures of yourself does not hurt other people...

  457.  @Titan500J  - dude - or Dudette - its not a question of not agreeing with me - I don't even live in your country. And its NOT my "opinion" its published GOP policy from the 80's. Here is a snippet of a script I wrote. Why America is full of idiots. In the late 1970's and early 80's computers became a thing and you could process lots of statistical data for the first time. And the political parties did... The data showed the GOP they would be demographic-ed out of existence in a couple of decades. It also showed the GOP that stupid badly educated people - amazingly - voted for them. Voted AGAINST their own interests, as blue-collar workers and for the GOP. So the GOP started to breed their own supporters. They systematically defunded education - in 1976 education was 5.7% of GDP. In 1983 it was 3.4% Some of the specific changes they made were to STOP teaching critical thinking skills, skills that ALLOW people to spot a lie. And it was wildly successful. America now has an uneducated subclass of 35% idiots and it is enough to swing elections. I'm a psychologist and author in Europe. In working on a book "How to survive in a collapsing society". So I have been researching this for months. Its possibly the evilest social engineering / eugenics in history. They knowingly and deliberately engineered poor people with no future and lied to them for 40 years to stay in power and screw over working and middle-class Americans... And it WORKED - that is the unbelievable part to me - IT WORKED...

  742.  @billthecook4357  - Well as a European it would be my natural reaction to call you crazy for the guns, but you live in a country with 400 million guns, if things get bad they will likely get REALLY bad. I'm about to publish a book called "ADRIFT IN THE SHARK TANK - how to cope in a post-pandemic world" - its not a preppers guide, its a psychological manual, but this is a section you might relate to: So your number ONE top priority in life is to clear any debt you have and to never take any more debt on unless it is to start a business or buy a house. Do absolutely everything humanly possible to clear every penny of debt you have, I mean go to extreme lengths. Go around your house and put a little sticker on everything you have not used for the last 12 months - you don't need it, put it on eBay and sell it. Even if you only get $5 for an item - that's $10, $20 even $50 over the lifetime of that debt you are clearing off. Cos $5 can be the difference in a payment happening or a payment “bouncing” and then you will be hit with late fees. Stop buying ANYTHING that is not food, a necessity for your children, an absolute necessity for life and pay off those debts in the order of most horrifically expensive. PayDay loans first. Credit cards second. Car finance third. Bank loans fourth. Mortgage fith. ---§--- This is another section and the one that 99.95 of people fall foul of. REALITY LAG ‘I haven't learned how to confront a problem by avoiding it.’ Brian Spellman People’s admission and acceptance of the reality of any given bad situation is always rolling six months to one year behind reality. This is largely why small businesses go bust, people ignore the red flags for way too long. This is how people end up trapped in an abusive relationship - because they make excuses for the first year and ignore people ignore the red flags. This is how people wind up in a dictatorship, because people ignore the red flags... ...When the universe sends you a hurricane warning via the weather service, it’s probably a good time to board up your house and evacuate. That way you have the best chance of surviving and your property surviving. That's not being pessimistic or unambitious. That's just being sensible, heading the warnings and preparing. But when the universe sends us a warning that things are not that great with our small business, or our relationship, or our finances, the vast majority of us say, ‘It will be OK’, ‘it will work its self out’, ‘we’ve had hard times before…’ Toxic Positivity has trained us to ignore reality for fear of being ‘negative’ and ‘pessimistic’ when in reality all we would be is prepared. We seek out motivational material to overcome any temporary lag in our relentless and socially approved of positivity. And we deny the reality of our situation.

  748.  @Rose-hx9vk  NO - wrong again. Im 52 years old. I have travelled in 53 countries, lived on 23 continents, I'm an author on psychology and the collapse of civilisations - and NO I dont care about your personal property. "Research Cuba" - I've interviewed over 1000 people who lived under communism in the ex-soviet union - I am LITERALLY typing this IN the ex-Soviet Union. I speak Russian and Bulgarian дори мога да чета и пиша на български. And the schools under communism were FANTASTIC, so shut up with that BS for starters. Many of the people I interviewed had 2, 3 even 4 university degrees. AND NO they do NOT thank the USA for bankrupting the USDSR they hate you for it - you destroyed their lives. OH - the USA is collapsing - you have entered "cascading systems failure" and there is no way out... This is the list of contributing factors to societal collapse: Plague / disease Y Environmental change Y Massive wealth inequality Y Loss of the administrative class Y The government stops governing Y Attack from the outside - now includes cyber attack Y Loss of faith in the political system Y Economic collapse Y Exposed obvious corruption Y Crumbling infrastructure Y Mismanagement of a crisis Y Societal division Y Loss of belief in the unity of the society Y Restriction of international trade / loss of trade agreements Y Increased isolationism Y Rising internal violence Y Excessive spending on military / arms race Y Inability to maintain the currency - hoarding / devaluation / hyper inflation Y If a majority of things on the list happen to a civilisation simultaneously, it is invariably the end for that civilisation. If all happen at the same time, it's guaranteed to be the end. The USSR collapsed with 9 out of the 18. America scores 18/18. And you have reached "cascading interconnected systems failure" - everything is broken and everything you need to fix it is also broken. The only question left is can you MANAGE the collapse? Will it be like the end of the British Empire - or Yugoslavia 1992 with way more guns. ---§--- Capitalism is inherently self-cannibalising - you won't like it, but Marx pointed this out 150 years ago. Just cos you dont like Marx does not mean he was wrong, and sadly for the west, he was right. Capitalism is a funnel that steadily moves wealth to the top. When it has emptied out the working class it starts on the middle class. unless you heavily tax the top and spend the money at the bottom the system LITERALLY runs out of money to function - and this is the USA 2022 with the Fed printing money to keep the system functioning. Americans voted for tax cuts for 40 years and that has allowed the money to be vacuumed up by the top 1% - 3 people have the same wealth as the bottom 50% - the SYSTEM DOES NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO CONTINUE FUNCTIONING. The solution for each president "print money" and kick the can down the road till after the next election when its not my problem. - so no, I'm not young, I'm old and this is my job, analysing how civilisations collapse and how people contribute to that and react to it. my next book "how to cope in a collapsing society" will be out this year - you should keep an eye out for it.

  762.  @scurra1163  - Well IM the author on psychology and the collapse of civilisation that has spent 12 years collecting people's stories of life under communism for a book and you are a shouty rando on the internet... So who should we trust here??? OK - So lets say you - shouty person - could buy a house for $25,000, have a job for life that paid you $75,000 index-linked, a good union and a pension that paid you 75% of your final salary, your university cost you $5,000, great medical insurance and you had a new car you bought cash every 2 years and only one of you had to work so the other person could look after your kids - ARE YOU TELLING ME that this would be a bad life??? cos THAT is what these people are remembering, you can accuse them of not remembering the bad stuff and sure they gloss over that. But what they are NOT misremembering is that THEIR LIVES WERE VASTLY BETTER TO YOUR LIFE. And that is why you are an angry shouty person on the internet. You are not angry cos they are misrepresenting the past - you are angry they are RIGHT in many ways - your life is sh!t working an uber style contract and no hope of buying a house. My friend in America started as an intern at a company 33 years ago. She is now on $225k, she HAS a 75% pension and she just downsized her house that she bought 30 years ago for $1.1 million - now you cant hate her cos she is massively left wing and goes out every winter handing out coats and gloves she has bought to every homeless person in her city. YOU are angry cos that life is not available to you. YOU want them to be misremembering - cos that just means they are id!ots and you can write them off and that makes YOU feel better about how you have been totally and utterly shafted by neoliberalism in America.

  840.  @elyssay3157  - Ok I am going to send you a link to a study in a separate comment cos YouTube often deletes messages with outside links thinking they are spam and I don't want to have to re-type this. If you cont get it just Google "Frontiers in Psychology Facebook study". The problem with these studies is they tend to focus on ONE specific question and the answer to any Facebook related question is "yes it makes you more miserable" or similar. The issue is the combined effect - it makes everyone more miserable the longer you are on it and the more "friends" you have on there, but combine that with external stresses [they have to eliminate or account for these in studies for obvious reasons] and it is a multiplying effect. My job - it is on the whole incredibly rewarding. I work for free [my income comes from the books I have written] so it would have to be pretty rewarding to do it for free. Ill be honest - you get numb to the horror. I have clients that have been set on fire, I have clients that have been turned into drug addicts, beaten if they want to stop the drugs, clients who have been systematically tortured, raped, cut, abused, you name it. But its like the green numbers in the matrix movie. Its background, its their story but it does not affect me [I cant let it] and it does not actually affect their recovery very much. There is little difference between coming to terms with the psychological effects of any of the things I have just mentioned. Abuse is abuse, trauma is trauma, and the human mind deals with them all in remarkably similar ways.

  988.  @Titan500J  - Well credit to you - and I mean that. Only one time in 1000 does someone say "I stand corrected" and that sets you apart from a hell of a lot of people. "would you want Sean Hannity CNN, MSNBC to balance what there saying" NO - I would want news channels to be funded by cooperatives OR the shares only owned by SMALL ordinary investors. You are not allowed to own more than say - 50 shares of any media outlet. Who are the real kings in this world??? The people that own the media - the PEOPLE of America did not elect Trump - Rupert Murdoch elected Trump and that is horrifically toxic and dangerous. If you want to know HOW dangerous - watch Sky News Australia. You think US media is bad - they called Greta Thunberg a child abuser the other week!!! They said that today's youth has NOTHING to worry about with the climate at all, its all a con... NOW you might argue about the REASONS for climate change in America but I don't think anyone is saying it is not happening... Lets remember that Australia USED to have a "Great Barrier Reef" no longer, and half the country was on fire last year. The whole of western civilisation is screwed, everything is owned by the billionaires - the Kings - the media, the politicians of all parties, the corporations, and almost ALL the money - there is no money LEFT in the US economy, it is sat in the bank accounts of billionaires. Why do you think Bezos's $500 million yacht has sails - which prevent helicopters landing so it needs a support yacht...??? You think that is to be environmentally friendly?? NO - its so that it can run indefinitely without refuelling if and when the USA erupts in revolution against the rich and its too dangerous to dock for fuel. Superyachts are SOLD as safe refuges from the revolution - that is literally IN THE SALES LITERATURE as the main selling point. And sales of superyachts are through the roof... There is no such thing as right wing or left wing - there are rich and poor. Everything else is just a distraction from the pitchforks and the revolution. But collapse is coming to the USA, and as horrible as it is, its NEEDED. And its needed in my own home country of the UK - they are about 5 to 10 years behind the USA in collapsing... Sorry for the long post.

  995. SIMPLE [I'm an author in this field] - the political class of America sh!t on the working people of America for 40 years, they allowed corporations to sh!t on the working people of America for 40 years. They lied and lied and lied until there was no truth to working people - maybe there was for the educated and the middle class - but not to the working guy driving an uber cos his job get sent to China. THEN you had Obama - Obama was the PERSONIFICATION OF HOPE AND PROMISE - and he did absolutely NOTHING. Obama smashed the last vestige of hope for the future through normal political means. TRUMP IS PAYBACK They dont vote for Trump cos they think their lives will get better, they vote for Trump cos he makes YOUR lives worse. You mocked them, you despised them, you had great lives whilst their turned to sh!t, whilst their freinds and family died of opiate addiction, whilst they went without medical treatment cos they could not afford it. They hate you because even now YOU DONT KNOW THIS you dont know why they voted for Trump and you hate them for doing it. Trump hates the liberal elites cos they never made him part of the crowd, he was always the tacky outsider and the MAGA crowd can feel that hate and it resonates with their hate. TRUMP IS PAYBACK for 40 years of America sh!tting on the working people. Im my home country - BREXIT is payback for Britain sh!tting on the working people for 40 years. In France, it is riots and a likely LaPenn victory at the next election. I hope this helps explain a few things. EDIT: Yes most Trump voters are stup!d - but it is wrong to think they vote for Trump BECAUSE they are stupid. This is just a middle class get out of jail free card that allows you to NOT have to address the issues that caused this. Ironically - Biden is actually doing that - he is investing in the red stated and he is insisting that the workers on gove contracts get good wages, he is putting up billboards saying "Biden made this scheme happen'

And he IS a life long criminal - however, you DO have the right to be upset. The weak and pathetic Democrats were NOT going to charge him with his crimes cos he is a rich elite and in your country, the rich DONT get prosecuted they are above the law. IF he had not announced a 2nd run he would not have been charged WITH HIS CRIMES. This is why they have all come at once. So lets be 100% clear: He is one of the worst presidents you have ever had - an international laughing stock He is a criminal - a life long criminal He would NOT have been charged if he had just shut up and gone away cos he is rich in Am3ric4 and you dont have justice for rich people The prosecutions are NOT political The LACK of prosecution WAS political - let the rich elite guy get away with his crimes The TIMING is 100% political EVERYONE in Am3ric4 has the right to be upset over this - but this is the country you created for yourselves by making money your God and worshipping rich people. A cable car in Turkey had an accident and injured a lot of people 2 days ago - they IMMEDIATELY arrested the directors and owners of the company to stand trial - would that EVER happen in the US in 100 million years....??? YOU built this country YOU don't get to complain about the application of justice when it goes against your team - it goes against team poor and in favour of team rich 100% of the time...!!!

1113.  @kiwinewz2042  - You are looking at it in a VERY western way the "ownership"., They dont see it as a sacred asset as we westerners do. its a home, you have a right to a home. And over here they are so cheap they are not this lifetime achievement. So yes the "ownership" was a result of the fall of the USSR, correct. they dont see that as a positive on the whole. The idea that the average person in the USSR thanks the west for destroying the USSR is a western propaganda myth. It leads to literal starvation and vast amounts of crime. they had 20 years of almost totally unreported in the west abject poverty and violence. The average person does not see the transfer of the house they lived in to them by a piece of paper as making up for that. Yes many families here have multiple houses they dont use. I live in a "commie block" the old soviet apartment blocks - why WAY better than you would ever think, all my neighbours disappear ion a weekend and Im alone cos they all have 2nd houses in the villages... So how do you compare a person living on $500 a month here with no mortgage and a 2nd home in the countryside with an average worker in the USA. The very structure of society is so different that a direct comparison is not possible. I dont have a car for example. Cos the public transport is so good and so cheap, how do you compare that to an American family that NEEDS 2 cars just to live...??? Businesses have busses that pick up their workers - YOU don't DRIVE to work, its the employer's job to get you to work... Its such a different culture it takes 10 years to even start to understand it properly.

1229.  @lemdixon01  - "How do you think that a gender studies degree is in any way on the whole useful for society" You have literally never googled what a degree in gender studies entails or what use it is have you...?? What you think is "It contains the words gender, I hate transgender people, therefore I hate people who do gender studies" as confirmed by your bigoted idea they would likely be on hormone treatment. Let me give you an example, in the military, you have male and female pilots - you NEED to know if they process information differently in stressful situations THATS GENDER STUDIES. People with gender studies degrees work in the aviation industry on designing flight control user interfaces. White men in their 30' to 50's kill themselves as the highest rate of any section of society by a frightening margin, finding out why so we can stop it - THATS GENDER STUDIES These dead men - 30,000 a year - they are usually right wing. You might have an old degree in electronics - but you are a bigot and it clouds your view of the world. ALL EDUCATION HAS APPLICATION. You are just too bigoted to see it. EDIT: You literally made a 17 minute video on "Conspiracy Genderless Future". You also made multiple comments that it was an FBI agent pretending to be a Trump supporter in the plane. Im telling you now as a decent human being and someone who has to put people back together after psychological trauma - you need to stop going down this rabbit hole of conspiracy and hatred. I will tell you where this all ends. It ends with your family disowning you, you losing your job for being a weirdo, it possibly ends with you being arrested for doing something dodgy - the police and the FBI don't LIKE people with electronic knowledge and crackpot ideas, this usually has bad endings. You are heading down a very bad rabbit hole that never ends well for anyone who goes down it. There is not great conspiracy - its "systems evolution" - tens of millions of vested interests all pushing in the same direction - the evolution of global systems. I'm being nice to you now, cos your channel throws up like 20 massive red flags. If you keep going down this path, you will die regretting it.

1289.  @suggadeg  - Printing money has not been the collapse of every currency in history cos the printing press was not invented until 1436. God you people are intensely thick, and arrogant - I assume you are American. Only Americans have that uniques combination of extreme stupidity and arrogant confidence that they actually know what they are talking about cos cos cos - yeah I abbreviate things - get over it, get a life. Yes, I regularly use cos in books, people want to read real words, its 2022 not 1922, language evolves. Ill help your tiny brain out here - This is the list of contributing factors to societal collapse: Plague / disease Y Environmental change Y Massive wealth inequality Y Loss of the administrative class Y The government stops governing Y Attack from the outside - now includes cyber attack Y Loss of faith in the political system Y Economic collapse Y Exposed obvious corruption Y Crumbling infrastructure Y Mismanagement of a crisis Y Societal division Y Loss of belief in the unity of the society Y Restriction of international trade / loss of trade agreements Y Increased isolationism Y Rising internal violence Y Excessive spending on military / arms race Y Inability to maintain the currency - hoarding / devaluation / hyper inflation Y If a majority of things on the list happen to a civilisation simultaneously, it is invariably the end for that civilisation. Enjoy your collapse.

"A small percentage fall into the wrong hands and make news." 324 mass shooting this year alone in the USA. 40,000 dead last year - a small percentage "You can't control Crazy" you LITERALLY can control crazy, its not a "crazy" problem - its a broken collapsing society problem. 1377.  @billthecook4357  Bill - I listen to so much total bullsh!t from people on YouTube comments, honestly no one has got closer to the truth of the situation than you have. I get to spend 8 hours a day for 3 years thinking about this and calling it work, I understand that most people can't have an in-depth understanding, they have not got the time. But it does distress me how wide of the mark the vast majority of people are. Here is another chapter, but you know it already, sorry its a bit long. IS CIVILISATION COLLAPSING? ‘Whether we like it or not, change comes. And the greater the resistance, the greater the pain.’ Alan Watts YES, civilisation is collapsing. At least in the U.S.A. and the UK, and in the west more generally. That is a bit depressing. Not the best way to start a book. But I'm not trying to make you happy. I'm trying to give you the tools to cope with what is happening. And denying the reality of what is happening is, as we have discussed, NOT a coping strategy! Denying the reality of what is happening is what gets most people into most of the serious trouble in their lives: not opening that stack of overdue bills because it’s just too depressing to face, not calling the car finance company when you can’t make a payment because you just can’t face it. So, we have to first acknowledge the reality we are living in. And that reality is: Life in the U.S.A. and the UK will never be the same again. Everyone will have to cope with a new reality. A reality of life in a declining country. And this happens. The Roman Empire collapsed. The USSR collapsed. The British Empire collapsed. And people lived through it. And so will you! Will you have to adapt? YES. But that is largely the point of this book. Change is not in its self a ‘bad thing’, it’s just ‘a thing’. It’s only bad when you cannot cope with it. And the first way people fail to cope with change is by denying it’s happening until it is too late and requires drastic upheaval in their lives. The classic example is the failing small business. First it’s a ‘bad week’, then it’s a ‘bad month’, then it’s a ‘bad patch’, then it’s a ‘bit worrying’, then it’s a ‘maybe we need to do more marketing’, then it’s ‘we have to think about cutting down spending’, then it’s ‘we really need to cut down on our spending’, and then it’s ‘we need to take drastic action!’ Then it’s bankruptcy a year or 18 months after the first red flags that something was wrong. Over 25 years in business, I have watched this happen to people’s businesses time after time, even my own in the early days. Until I learned the lesson. Everyone says the same, ‘we didn't act quick enough’, ‘we thought we were doing enough’, ‘we thought we had cut our spending down to nothing - but we were still spending hand over fist on things we did not need…!’ Humans deny realities they do not like. They bury their head in the sand and hope for the best. When they should be preparing for the new reality. Accepting the reality of your situation allows you to prepare for it physically, prepare for it financially, prepare for it mentally, and prepare for it emotionally. So, let's have a look at the situation in the U.S.A. today from an historical perspective. Why do civilisations collapse? Looking at all the historical analysis I can find and watching a lot of YouTube videos (when you are an author, watching YouTube videos counts as work), listening to podcasts and reading books, I have come up with this list of contributing factors to societal collapse: Plague / disease Environmental change Massive wealth inequality Loss of the administrative class The government stops governing Attack from the outside - now includes cyber attack Loss of faith in the political system Economic collapse Exposed obvious corruption Crumbling infrastructure Mismanagement of a crisis Societal division Loss of belief in the unity of the society Restriction of international trade / loss of trade agreements Increased isolationism Rising internal violence Excessive spending on military / arms race Inability to maintain the currency - hoarding / devaluation / hyper inflation If a majority of things on the list happen to a civilisation simultaneously, it is invariably the end for that civilisation. As I write this in May 2022, we can safely tick most, if not all, of these boxes for the U.S.A. and the UK. If you live outside the U.S.A. and the UK, don't think you are getting off Scott free. Take a look at the list again. Most western countries tick off a good number of the collapse criterion. I doubt many people would argue the U.S.A. is in a more perilous position right now, but everyone has a right to be worried about the future at the moment. You are not being paranoid. You have reason to worry. Just because you are not living in the U.S.A. or the UK does not mean this book is irrelevant to you. This book is relevant to you if you are worried about your future. Your society may not collapse, the U.S.A. may not collapse, I may be completely wrong. It only matters if you FEEL like the society around you is collapsing and you are having difficulty with that. Because at the end of the day, the universe is nothing but your perception of it and the feelings that engenders in you. If you feel like the world is collapsing around you and you cannot cope - your world is collapsing. And that is all that counts. ---§--- Change is not the problem, its people's inability to cope with the change that is the problem. Clinging onto a past that no longer exists...

1400.  @Rose-hx9vk  - Exactly - I did not say "all republicans are bad people" - Not ALL republicans are bad people. But the Republican party has a near-monopoly on truly bad people. Its self selecting. And its NOT just the Republican party. The right-wing party in any country has a near-monopoly of terrible people. There is even an experiment that proves this. The Child In The Well Experiment Mencius (fourth century BCE) was a Confucian philosopher. He proposed that all humans were inherently good. They all has “sprouts” of goodness, they just needed nurturing. To demonstrate this he proposed the following. A young child is sat on a well, as you want by it falls screaming down the well. He says EVERYONE would run to help the child, call for help. Recently this was tested. Subjects were taken to a room in a different city and there was a video screen of the space outside and it shows a well with a child on it. The subjects don't know this is a a pre recorded video, they think it is a live feed. As the “experiment” is being set up the child falls screaming down the well. The theory is that 100% of people will react and call the assistant to go help the child. This is not the case. 80% do exactly that, they go nuts and scream for help, run out the room to try and save the child, just what you would expect. 20% do NOTHING. They don't call for help, they don't get up and try to help and a significant proportion don't even register any facial emotions. They just passively watch a child die as if they were watching a commercial for shampoo. Upon further investigation, the vast majority - close to 90% - of these that don't react are right wing to far right wing in their political views. ---§--- A sociopath, a narcissist, a psychopath is hardly likely to be drawn to the "let's be nice to everyone" party are they???

1402.  @Rose-hx9vk  - No you have been extremely polite, exemplary. If I am a little short and snappy please forgive me. I am 250 miles south west of Odessa - the scene of some of the worst fighting in Ukraine; life is incredibly stressful here at the moment. NO high taxes are not the answer, they are PART of the answer - but you actually mentioned the answer in your reply. EDUCATION. Almost ALL problems in society can be solved with education. And if you want to rob a society you first have to make it dumb. I wrote this a few weeks ago: In the late 1970's and early 80's computers became a thing and you could process lots of statistical data for the first time. BTW - I dont blame the Republicans. Its the GOP's job to move towards fascism and the Democrat's job to move towards socialism and its each other's job to stop it from happening. The Democrats totally sold out the working people of America and allowed the GOP to move so far to the right they have essentially lost their minds. Its the Democrats that failed America and allowed this to happen by being pathetically weak sellouts. ---§--- I am - for want of a better phrase - a communist. I arrived in Bulgaria a foaming at the mouth capitalist and made millions of dollars selling Bulgarian cosmetics to people in America. But I was not happy, what is the point of a system that takes the money needed to live from thousands and gives it ot a few who dont need it and it does not even make them happy... I suffered brain damage in a mugging and lost everything - I was homeless for a while and learned to live on next to nothing, I was way happier than I was when rich. I realised what people need is rich fulfilling lives not rich with money lives. It was the fruit trees that made me a communist - everyone in my city gets 4 months of limitless FREE FRUIT cos there are thousands of fruit trees. Why - free fruit for the people and I thought OH MY GOD, you can actually design and build a society FOR THE PEOPLE... You dont have to build it for profit, there IS a different way to do it. So Im not a "Tanki" I don't want Soviet era communism, but I want a society that is built for THE PEOPLE, and one that does not rely on endless growth that the planet can not sustain - that would be good. Sorry for the long posts.

1403.  @Rose-hx9vk  - The Russian army is so totally hollowed out by corruption that it is utterly collapsing. One of the most visible examples are the tires on the truck, they are a Chinese FAKE version of a Michelin tire and they are no more than a movie prop. They will last a maximum of a month on the road and an hour off-road before they explode. There are videos of trucks driving along with the 4 back tires ALL blown out. Apparently, the Chinese fake version costs $500 and the original Michelin version $15,000 - the $14,500 difference paid for some oligarchs yacht. For the first time today, I had a tiny hope that Russia might just straight up LOSE the war. Tomorrow I am taking about 6 big bags of clothes and blankets to the Red Cross for the refugees that are starting to arrive in our city now. Education - my education was based on critical thinking. We had to work everything out from first principles. At the beginning of the pandemic, I started a university degree on Ancient Chinese Philosophy. It was entirely geared around you passing the exam at the end of each week NOT on understanding or learning about philosophy. AT the end of the first year I had passed the exams but I knew nothing so I gave up - I was not interested in a certificate, I w3anted to UNDERSTAND Chinese philosophy and that is not what the course was about. Communism - when you talk to people who lived under communism, its not so much an extreme political ideology as we see it in the west. Its a different way of structuring society. Where I live in Bulgaria, most people want to go back to communism who lived under it. In Romania next door it was a living hell. Communism wasn't a monoblock like we think of it, it was very varied. some places were really really good and others were like prison camps. We were only told the prison camp version. Emotionally Weak - hahahha - people see the fight and the courage of the Ukrainians and they are shocked, Im not. We had 100% mask compliance here, no one complained, no one protested, no one got their feelings hurt, no one has a months-long tantrum and I am sure it was the same in Ukraine. People in the west have had so little REAL to complain about for so long [as a society] that they fixate on the tiny things like having to wear a mask. Its the end of the world. After the USSR collapsed people starved to death in Eastern Europe - that was only 30 years ago. My friend Gia was sex trafficked by the Mafia in 2005, she escaped. No one here complained about having to wear a mask.

1474.  @scurra1163  - Yeah nice try but you just scream insecurity and bitter resentment in every syllable you write. I got your motivation correct and you and I know it. "'now you cant hate her cos she is massively left wing ' This one get's me. Why would I even remotely care? " cos if I had not clarified that you would have gone on a 1000-word rant about it - yes you are THAT transparent - I literally put in a pre-emptive block on that cos I didn't want to read it. "The 'good old days' is almost always BS, no matter whose ideology is being discussed." and your evidence for this is...??? OH, your opinion, sorry thats not a valid argument. "and as the generation that built the current system might have regrets at screwing it up, doesn't mean there recollections were correct. Just because the current system is corrupt or ineffective(and largely their generation's fault)" oh look scream insecurity and bitter resentment in every syllable "You also make MASSIVE leaps of logic in your thoughts on my motivation" - yes I do - but Im right though, aren't I? You have no secure job, no prospects of buying a decent house, having kids will be a massive stretch is not an impossibility, university will bankrupt you - and you know what? EDIT: I don't think you are aware of just how astonishingly transparent you are. YOU ARE 100% RIGHT TO BE P!SSED you got totally screwed over and lied to and it is completely unfair. But don't tell me I don't know what I am doing or talking about. Cos you and me both know I do, and that's why you are so shouty cos truth hurts. The bottom line is - on the whole LIFE WAS BETTER for the people who say life was better in the good old days. BECAUSE life in the USA was better for young people of their demographic in the 1950's 60's and 70's. It just wasn't better for everyone, and thats the bit they forget. Anyone involved in the war effort that was white - they got an interest-free mortgage on a new house, you are going to remember that very fondly - but ONLY if you were white... They are NOT excessively romanticising their lives - they are just missing their massive privilege...

1479.  @ArrowBast  - Yeah thats cos the right-wing government cut 40,000 [which is a lot for a tiny island] police and blocked pay rises for the rest of them so their pay has gone down as well. BUT - its the same as the "immigrant crisis". These things are massively overstated BY the right-wing media to get people to KEEP voting for the right-wing "tough on crime - nasty to immigrants party" when the moderate uptick in these problems is 100% down to the politics of the right-wing government. They also cut 30% of the courts so no one gets sentenced for anything. Its the worst for women - only 0.79% of all R and serious S/A cases even get charged and they won't release the level that actually get convicted. Because it is SO LOW women don't bother reporting it so essentially R/pe is legal in the UK. Its the same thing that happens with any right-wing government - they break stuff and then tell you THEY are the only ones who can fix it. Inflation has been close to 15% and wages have not gone up in 10 years for most people - OF COURSE, STREET CRIME IS A PROBLEM. Kids are fainting in classrooms cos they are literally starving. Nurses are going to food banks - hospitals are opening food banks IN THE HOSPITAL for their nurses to get food. I was on a long holiday / research trip here in Bulgaria when the Conservative government got elected - I never went home, I knew exactly what would happen. The same thing that happens to every country when a far right government gets in - it collapses. The one advantage the USA has is a president can only do 2 terms - so you elect the right wing GOP - they smash everything to pieces with a hammer and then the Dems [who I hate BTW] try to put it back together and then after 8 years they are out of power. In the UK they can go on for 12, 15, 18 years and its only in the last 5 can they REALLY smash the place to pieces.

1480.  @mitotakjde9763  - Im not speaking for your country - only for Bulgaria. Where 75% of people over 65 voted communist in the last election that is just the official statistic. " life was to steal everything you saw" Im sorry for this terribly poor reflection on your country - here in Bulgaria the doors still have the old "locks" on them from the communist time. It is a piece of 3mm thick wire bent into an L shape that you turned to stop the door from being opened. People specifically talk about the low crime of the socialist period. "The communist party here has 2% support only" Yeah in Bulgaria it ranges from 21% to 26% [Edit - there was a snap election Oct 2022 when the BSP got 8.98% of the vote, this mostly reflects an effort to get the corrupt GERB party out of power, or maybe the old socialist voters are just dying off...?] "Most post soviet countries would love to have the option of cutting Russia out of Eurasia and placing them to the other end of the world so they don't have to interact with them ever again.. " I agree - no one I talk to wants to be part of Russia's sphere of influence again - but socialism is not Russia " would literally rather shoot myself in the head than to live under communism.." I have really bad news for you - capitalism is collapsing and it will in the next 50 years be replaced by some modern form of communism. Are you from Romania by any chance, they seen to have had the worst time under communism? EDIT" I dont doubt what you say BTW - the one thing I have learned about communism is it was incredibly varied, just like capitalism. In some places, it was very good and people liked it, in others is was a horror show. If you ask a homeless person on the streets of America with no money for insulin what he tinks of capitalism you will get a tory similar to the one you tell. If you ask a business owner with a nice house you will get a very very different story.

1484.  @lamaahruloma4270  - You are one of the few people who has replied with a reasonably accurate description of what I have learned from hundreds of interviews. The control, the paranoia and the lack of freedom were the things that people hated most - as far as I can tell. The lack of shiny consumer goods is not something people tend to mention, thats a thing we in the west obsessed about cos we had them and that is how WE measured success. People miss the lack of stress and worry, the knowledge they would have a job and a house next month no matter what. They also miss the community and feeling that everyone was connected and part of the same - everyone hated the government, you and your neighbour hated the government. Now you and you neighbour have different political views and hate each other... There is a LOT of solace to be gained from having a united enemy you all hate. As a westerner I came here expecting people to universally hate it, I believe the propaganda of the west, never even knew it was propaganda, I thought it was truth. I was incredibly surprised to find people with happy stories and many fond memories. I was even more shocked to find many people wishing to return to socialism - not to the USSR, they are not [not all anyway] Tankies - but many of them dont like democracy they feel it has turned neighbour against neighbour and pushed the job of making decisions onto them. The variety and complexity is what caused me to start recording these stories - you have to be careful. There is no point in getting a story from an ex-party member, its not going to be a tru reflection of life under communism. Equally, people who wanted to flee cos they hated it, their stories are unreliable. You need the stories of the vast majority - those who just lived from day to day. And that is the point most people miss. The vast majority complained about communism in the same way that most Americans complain about their government, its what people do, but they didn't hate it enough to ever think of leaving. The other thing people in the west get wrong is it was NOT a monolith - it was very varied from country to country and even town to town and job to job. Saying "what was life like under communism" is an unanswerable question - what is life like under capitalism? Depends who you are, who your family is, what city you live in and what country... QUOTE "you can get a better house in communism, but you must give something in exchange" Yes I think the going rate is about $1 million in the west...

1487.  @SonicPhonic  - I absolutely cold not agree more. Personally, I think life under the USSR's communism would be absolutely horrible. I am not an advocate for Stalin in any way shape or form. Im just playing devil's advocate an pointing out to people that the idea we were fed in the west that life was universally hellish and everyone wanted to leave is simply not true, that was propaganda. I was astonished when I arrived in 2009 from the Uk as a foaming-at-the-mouth business-owning capitalist to find that NO, a lot of people liked communism and wanted to return to it as an economic model. [NO they dont want to return to 1975, they are not idiots, they want to return to a socialist economic model but in 2023] There is absolutely NO doubt the 40 to 50 million killed by Mao were actually killed BY Mao, he was offered help by the USSR to feed them and turned it down, he is responsible. Very personally responsible, but Im not entirely sure the communist economic SYSTEM was directly responsible, he made very very very bad decisions... We dont blame Hitlers genocide on Capitalism do we? YET capitalism - specifically greedy American bankers and the Wall St collapse of 1929 is what brought Hitler to power, he ran on a platform of "the establishment sold you out to the American [J] Bankers and you lost your savings and the communists are coming to take your house off you - vote for me! It was very very specifically capitalism that created Hitler and we don't blame capitalism for the holocaust. Quarter of a billion people have died under "capitalist" famines yet we dont label them "Capitalist famines" its just a Famine - there is one in Africa now, no one is calling out the world bank [capitalist] for killing people yet we blame the Soviet famines on communism. Im not a Tanki - if "Stalin 2.0" came to power here I would leave immediately. But we need, as a species, to move on from capitalism to a more sustainable and equitable, fairer economic model. What Aron Bastani calls "Fully Automated Luxury Communism"

1548.  @joonzville  This is a section of a chapter of my latest book, its aimed at disaffected desperate men in America, who tend to be right-wing and conservative and not read books so its has sold terribly. Which I knew it would, but the suicide rates are so horrific I had to make an effort. The problem is, you cant address the fundamental problems and NOT sound like a "leftie". [it is specifically written in an unintellectual manner] "HE’S NOT A LEFTIE - HE’S A VERY NAUGHTY BOY! I'm very conscious that I might come across like a raging ‘leftie’ and that may put people off me and this book, deny them the help this book may offer them and politics is not my agenda here, so I want to address this issue head on. If you are a hard-core right-wing Trump supporter, I don't care. You are a human being who wants the same as I do – a half decent life, the ability to feel safe and secure, be able to look after your family and provide for them, earn a decent living, save a bit of money, and not struggle every damn day of your life. You are no different to me, or to any person reading this book, it's what all humans want. I don't believe in ‘left’ or ‘right’, these are labels put on people and ideas to ‘other’ and to ‘divide’. I'm not a ‘leftie’, I'm a person who has experienced a hell of a lot in life from extreme poverty and homelessness to literal millions £$€, and I’ve had the time to deeply reflect on it and this leads me to certain conclusions and insights that OTHER PEOPLE may have labelled as ‘left’. And this is how academia gets labelled as ‘Leftist’. In the same way it’s almost impossible to spend three years writing a book and not come up with something profound, it’s almost impossible to spend a life in academic study and thought and not arrive at a perspective that people have labelled ‘left wing’, unless financial interests induce you to lie about it. The reason being, that the capitalist status quo wants one thing, the continuation of the status quo in all its inequitable and destructive murderous horror (we call this right wing) and everyone who has the time to think deeply enough to get past the propaganda, realises the same self-evident truths. Believing that a system so obviously broken, as this one, needs replacing with a better, more equitable, more inclusive system, is NOT ‘left wing’: it’s HUMANITARIAN! I'm not ‘left wing’, academia is not ‘left win’, it’s just that given enough time and thought about the problems of society, everyone ends up coalescing around roughly the same ideas. These ideas are dangerous to the status quo so they are labelled, and demonised."

1562.  @izzywizzy685  - OK - Ill try and be quick cos I have things to do. The politicians of both side sin the USA are terribly lying scumbag neoliberal corporate shills - both sides serve the corporate masters. They play a game where they pretend to oppose each other and offer "different" options for the voters but in reality the only difference is one side hates trans people and one side does not THATS IT. They both love corporations and donors and they hate workers. TRUMP hates poor people and he hates workers but he ket telling the truth at the WRONG time. "i love the badly educated" YES WEALL DO said the politicians BUT DONT SAY THAT. The "drain the swamp" stuff was total BS, he put betsy devos in charge of schools - a woman who hated public schools and a coal lobbyist in charge of the EPA. But he kept saying the QUIET part out loud. He kept letting the cat out of the bag on the corruption BOTH sides are involved with. The rule in Washington is you DONT accuse the other side of the corruption YOU are doing. Its an unwritten rule that they all abide with - but TRUMP kept doing it. He was too dumb to keep his mouth shut. You dont accuse Nancy of insider trading cos all the GOP are insider trading. And the media rely on the SAME donors for advertising so they never call it out - they cant report on dodgy donations from XYZ if XYZ spends $500mill on advertising. He kept letting the cat out of the bag cos he is dumb and they HATED him for that. They want Trump but with 20 more IQ points who will know when to shut up and not rock the gravy boat.

1689.  @mattd1755  - I moved to Bulgaria as a millionaire business owner 12 years ago. I'm now a communist. Why? Because I saw how ordinary people in Bulgaria have a MUCH better life than in the UK where I am from. You are lucky and you live in Canada, which surprises me, if you lived in the USA and were in the 40% of people who can not afford the medical treatment you might think differently. Here in Bulgaria the vast majority of people who remember communism voted to return to communism in the recent election. Im not saying communism is perfect either - next door in Romania it was a living hell. My main reason for being a communist is environmental - we have to stop making things just for profit cos the planet is well past the point where it can sustain it. The other is, I dont want to be rich in a country with millions of desperately miserable poor people. Once you have 4 cars and 4 houses and you have eaten everything on the menu at every 5* restaurant in the city - life gets pretty meaningless. Capitalism made me incredibly rich, a kid who went to school in black trash bags cos we could not afford coats - I am THE poster boy for capitlaism. But the point is - it left a HELL of a lot of my classmate's behind... Maybe 10 of us "made it" out of a school of 2500 kids. Its the utterly miserable life the 1500 who "failed" have now that bothers me. The only thing they failed at was being born to a poor family in a crappy town in the poorest part of the UK. I will admit - If I had NOT become a millionaire and seen how shallow and unjust it really is - I would not have changed, if I were still trying to make it - id still believe in capitalism...

2072. CHANGE STARTS WITH YOU YOU REJECT THE PREMISE THAT GUNS ARE IN ANY WAY SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE You excommunicate anyone you know who has a gun. As a SOCIETY and an individual, you say "I WILL NOT BEa FRIEDS with anyone who has a gun" because You cant have a gun, claim to be a “responsible gun owner” and not be complicit in the deaths of these children In the same way you cant own a blood diamond and not be complicit in child slavery. You cant own Nike sneakers made in a sweatshop in Indonesia and not be complicit in exploitation. If you are not actively fighting against an injustice as huge as the mass killing of children in America with guns, you are complicit in the killings. If you have a gun and claim to be a “responsible gun owner” you are NORMALISING the existence of guns in people's hands in America and that allows the situation to continue. And because it is SO normalised to you in America, you don't see this. Guns are an antisocial dangerous f-uk you to society and owning one [except for hunting] is an a-hole thing to do. Guns are like fascism. If you are not actively fighting fascism you are complicit in letting it take over the country. When a problem reaches a certain magnitude - passivity becomes participation in the problem. YOUR GOVERNMENT will do nothing - YOU have to. You have to start change at a personal level and say GUNS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE - FULL STOP As a nation you are the abused trauma bonded victims of the right wing and the gun lobby and like all victims - the abuser has NORMALISED THE ABUSE you have to say I WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT THIS AS NORMAL cos owning a gun is NOT f-king normal - it is deeply antisocial and dangerous.

2109. I started talking to American for a book I am writing. TURNS OUT, the image the USA projects to the rest of the world is entirely propaganda. Its a divided nation split into the wealthy and the incredibly poor of which there are 35%. The educated and the idiots of which there are 35%. Those that live in reality and those in delusion of which there are 35%. Those that believe in democracy and those that believe in essentially white supremacy of which there are 35%. The problem is, 35% is enough to swing elections under their gerrymandered, voter suppressed, 2 senators per state idiotic election system that was specifically designed to keep white land-owners in charge. If Biden can not get Munchkin and Cinnamon bun to end the also utterly idiotic "filibuster" where the party that LOST gets to decide what happens, then the GQP will steal the 2022 and 2024 elections and then America is a dictatorship. The fate of the USA - democracy or dictatorship - is in the hands of possibly the two weakest senators in history - Munchkin and Cinnamon bun. This means the power dynamic of the entire globe rests on these two spinless corporate democrats. So YES it is extremely worrying to watch. And everyone IS watching - Bojo in the UK is enacting identical voter suppression. Here in Bulgaria they have copied the US political donations model and scraped the state funding of elections. They always said "when America watched a cold - the world sneezes" - well more like "When America catches fascist dictatorship - the world gives a nazi salute"

2482. I can explain it to you: The GOP defunded education for 40 years for a reason. And it worked..! This is the story of why America is full of idiots. ---!--- It was wildly successful. Add to that the fact the Democrats totally sold out the working people of America and you get TRUMP. The Dems think they vote for Trump BECAUSE they are stupid, actually, they vote for Trump because the Dems totally sold them out, they cant tell Trump is a con artist because they are stupid. To them, voting for Trump is a logical thing to do. He promises to make their lives better and the Dems ignore them and pander to the elites and the corporations. Its not a stupid thing to do to vote to make your life better - its a stupid thing to believe that Trump WILL make your life better. This is why his popularity is inversely proportional to education level.

2600.  @ramirorodriguez9671  - I 100% agree. I commented this to a guy who said he could not understand HOW Trump got elected: Im an author on psychology and the collapse of civilisations living in Europe. There is absolutely NO mystery why Trump was elected. The working people of America were TOTALLY betrayed by both the GOP and the Dems for 40 years, their jobs sent overseas, their towns abandoned to opium and rust. Berni Sanders was very clearly the winner of the primary and the corporate POS Dems chated and served up HRC and 50 million forgotten Americans who had got their hopes up for change though F-UK YOU. Trump lied to them, but at least he did not IGNORE THEM. He spoke to the working class, HE SPOKE TO THEM, literally, he went and talked to them, it was lies but ti was ATTENTION for the first time in 40 years someone was paying them attention. There is no mystery at all. 100,000 people in the heart of America died of opium overdoses last year, is it on the news every night "the Opium debate"? like the "Gun debate" NO - cos their lives DONT MATTER to anyone. Trump supporters are the loneliest people in America BEFORE they became Trump supporters. The life expectancy of a white male in the Missippie Delta is lower than that of a male in Bangladesh - the poorest part of the Indian subcontinent. As a country, you have utterly abandoned these people to literally die. The fact "will always be the most perplexing question to me [how Trump got elected]" for you shows that you have NEVER considered their plight. The fact you have never considered their plight IS WHY TRUMP WON.
