Sorry but it does not - China has a middle class 2 X the size of the American population. Contrary to "needing" the west - they are turning away from the west and looking inward to their domestic market.

China is not America, it will become No1 in the next 5 to 10 years but it is not a goal it pursues for the sake of it - its only by happenstance it will achieve it. "the demographic crisis that China is experiencing" China is not a capitalist country living on debt, again your worry is a very western very capitalist worry - if a capitalist economy does not grow by around 2% to 3% a year it stops functioning. China has capitalist element [that they are shedding] but it is a managed economy. Most western people have difficulty understanding China - China is a 3000 year old civilisation, they are not thinking about the mid term elections. They are thinking on time scales of 50 to 100 years making decisions based on philosophy 1000 or more years old. You can not understand Chinese politics unless you understand Ancient and modern Chinese philosophy

@Shawn-ky2tw China has 0% ZERO PERCENT in poverty - you have no concept of what China is today. Xi Jinping grew up in the famin, his life long goal has been to lift every single person out of poverty in China and he has achieved it. This is the problem talking to people about china who get their information from western media - is just 98% bullsh!t

@Macbrother They dont WANT to grow forever - they are not a capitalist country - again you are looking at China through western capitalist eyes. When you have a population of 1.4 billion people you think differently, you KNOW the land can not support endless growth. Americans stole a continent of the indigenous people and r4ped it for reasourses for 300 years, they have no concept of sustainability as a culture. China is NOT America, you can NOT understand China unless you understand ancient Chinese philosophy, dont even try. The three gorges dam is a philosophical project as much as it is an engineering project, the control of water in Chinese society is to the Chinese what a tech billionaire is to America. to be taken seriously as a leader you traditionally have to control water, the more you control water the more serious you are as a leader. Can you see why an American capitalist can not understand China?

I have EVERYTHING to dispute, but you are so lacking in the fundamentals I would have to start with the difference between a "free market economy" and a "static model managed economy" - and I aint doing that unless Im getting paid.
