As a European, I literally laughed out loud at the 556 number, and I'm not a bad person, it's just the numbers so ridiculous that my brain can't formulate an appropriate response.

Yeah, but that's the American way. You are taught from birth to care about yourselves, provide for yourselves, and the people who live in the gutter on drugs made bad choices in their lives. Things that happen to other people are not your problem and mostly their fault. Now Im not saying that ALL of you believe this, but you have to admit this is what you are taught. And when a society is taught that a large % of the population will grow up not caring if there are 600 mass shootings a year as long as it doesn't affect them and they get to keep their gun.
