  1. The vast vast majority of people did NOT thank the USA for bankrupting the USSR. I know, Im an author who has interviewed hundreds of them. They suffered terribly after the collapse, people starved to death in St Petersburg and other cities. Contrary to western beliefs the majority had a good life under communism and they were plunged into a mafia state of unbelievable crime and sex trafficking. In communist time the doors had no looks - every ground floor apartment has bars on all windows and doors - a relic from the 20 years after communism. None of this was reported in the west. -The fall of communism was a joyous moment. Most people put this time behind them and move on - some, like Putin, can NEVER forgive the west for what they did...
