HOW do yo acquire sausages - wait for 200 years for a man with sausages and a need for car tires to show up...??? Gold is the indestructible universally recognised medium of exchange. It does not become valuable cos people want shiny things in a crisis - it becomes valuable cos people NEED TO TRADE. This is why I have it all in 1g micro bars. @Charles37400 - "Your gold can be stolen from you, but your skills cant be," they can if you lose an arm... that aside it is an incredibly good thing to have practical skills in the modern world. In about 2002 I was recovering from severe alcoholism, I needed money so I started work self-employed as an "odd job man" just repairing things and maintaining things for people who didn't have the time or skill themselves. It was one of the most unexpectedly enjoyable and well-paid things I have ever done. I was pulled out with work and charging £25 an hour in 2002... In a digital world analogue skills are surprisingly valuable...
