  1. YESTERDAY I REALISED THAT BULGARIA HAD NOW PASSED the UK in terms of standard of living... I got a bus to the city centre - just an average small city, the bus is every 7 minutes - it was a brand new £1.3 MILLION electric bus more like a space shuttle - it cost me 60p for a 12 mile trip. When I moved here 13 years ago we had horses and carts on unmade roads. The progress has been astonishing - as has the decline of the UK

  4.  @Anon-xd3cf  - Its unbelievable - Im near Burgas. The city centre has been entire re paved in granite, with fountains and trees and the lamp post spray you with water in summer to keep you cool as you walk. Free wifi across the whole city centre. Glas and granite bus stops, brand new busses, glass smooth roads, new cycle routes everywhere, not a piece of litter anywhere... It was a 3rd world country when I arrived here - i mean it was super quaint and lovely for me as a person who was earning a living on line to live in 1940 with goats pulling carts and milk in churns etc. But for the people here I am super pleased for them. But the UK has gone backwards SO FAST, whilst this place has gone forwards SO FAST.
