I think there are two major possibilities. 1) Interstellar travel is just NOT a thing that can ever really be cracked no matter how advanced a civilisation - distances just too big 2) Every civilisation sufficiently advanced and eating up the resources in its galaxy starts to merge with electronics / computing and eventually lives digitally to conserve resources

  5. There is zero chance of this happening - billionaires are mentally ill, they may not have been before they became unimaginably wealthy, but that level of money damaged your brain. I know - I was a millionaire between 2010 and 2014 and in that short period of time it had started to erode my morality.
