  1. THE HUMAN CONDITION IS ANGST, DREAD AND WORRY we spend our lives doing things that release these negative emotions... We hoard wealth, we buy houses, we get careers to stave off worry and insecurity - we watch movies, we drink alcohol, we take drugs and we have sex to escape these worries. Evolutionarily we are both motivated by the pleasure of sex and the escapism it offers us. The more terrible our lives the more we are driven to escape it through sex. The more terrible our lives are, the more we need to get on with having babies from an evolutionary standpoint.
