  1.  @MasonMouse  It's an RF thing as well. If you're in a high RF environment (such as within a fee blocks or closer to a radio tower). The station I'm on has the main building about 100 feet from it's 1KW AM tower. CFLs burn out faster than an incontinent in this building. They're close enough in frequency for it to mess them up. They're also close enough in frequency to put out a great deal of static, thus (being in the business) I was more than happy to see them go away.

  2. There's one major problem with those things for broadcasters:, radio listeners, and armature radio operators; they put off a TON of RFI (static)..so much that I'm really surprised they the FCC let such a thing exist let alone be sold to the public.

  3. Not be "that guy", but as an AM broadcaster I have to speak up. Those things put off so much static that they not only mess up every radio in the house, but your neighbors' radios as well...even when the lamp is off. We outright HATE those things.
