Oh, I can definitely see a rich property owner wanting to feel powerful by having armed security. Makes them feel big time. These people saturate the world. They masquerade as good people.

His money should never have been seized, but i hope he at least had some other reserve of funds as a back-up. It would be unwise to have 100% of your money on you... so many things can go wrong, and it only needs to happen once, and you're out everything you have...

In other words, if you're guilty you need to spend a lot of money. If you're innocent, you really really need to spend a lot of money. I assume pay lawyers will do a much better job, but are appointed lawyers even any good ?
