  1. same as in radial aircraft engines, before start must be rotated by hand to push out oil from lower cylinders through spark plug hole

  2. yes, it is same as on radial engines but there oil falls on lower pistons and enters into combustion chamber, where can cause hydro lock, same can happen here if oil comes into combustion chamber inside of pistons

  3. it is not oil leakage during operation it is oil drainage when engine is stoped and after 10 or more hours out of operation, oil would enter into combustion chamber, so before engine start up oil should be empted , that is procedure with aircraft radial piston engines, i am suprized all you do not know that
