  1. zf is not best transmission in durability, it breaks very often particularly if you have heavy foot and shift all the time, it has very thinly clutch plates that wear very fast

  2. watch mustapic videos- he repairs auto transmision in germany, mostly in bee am double you-s(bmw) and he talk about situations what owners had in dealerships, and the 5 speed trans is same dimensions as 8/9 speed trans(is not a half a lenght of 8/9 speed) so something has to be thinner-clutch plates

  3. do you know somebody that has 8/9 speed zf trans that has 200000km without problems, for nag1, 5 speed i know many people including me

  4. for me is more important 50% less cost for maintenance and repair than 6% les fuel consumption, my 5 speed nag 1 has 200000 km , just maintenance every 3 years od 25000km what cost 50 dolars
