Thank you!! So few know about the fact that Thracians or better said Native Anatolia-Balkan people were the original inhabitants of Greece. Subsequent migrations of Proto Greeks possibly from Levant and possibly during thr bronze age collapse and trojan wars mingled with the natives also called Pelasgians which formed the Ancient Greek ethnicity that borrowed much of it's culture from the natives. There's a reason ancient Greek writers who admit Pelasgians are the original inhabitants of Greece cant agree on whether they are non Greeks, Greeks or part Greeks. That's because ancient Greeks are the descendants of non Greek Pelasgians and Proto Greeks. It's like retroactively calling your father the ethnicity of your mother because he married her. Thracians, Pelasgians, Illyrians, Phrygians, Getae, Moesians, Mysians, Trojans, Acheans, Macedonians, Phonecians, Arians, Medes, Mycenaens, Minoans are different names from different regions and times designating the same ethnic group. They were regionally distinct and fighting with each other at times but they were the same.

The real greeks who are mentioned in the Illiad as Danaans, are immigrants from Levant who took the side of thr Acheans in the Trojan war which was actually just a civil war between South Thraco-Macedonian-Pelasgian tribes and North Thraco-Daco-Macedonian-Phrygian tribes. Present day Greeks and even Classical Greeks are many times more related to non-greek barbarian tribes than the Greeks (Danaan immigrants from Levant). But modern day Greeks and Classical Grreks are still Greeks in the sense that those barbarian tribes such as Pelasgians Thtacians and Macedonians are native to Greece. Even the Hellenes were originally a thracian/prlasgian tribe in greece that worshipped Hellios thats why thr tribe was known as Helli. The region of Attica was named after the Thracian god Attis. The island of Samothrace is named after the union of two barbarian tribes Samoians and Thracians. Even the North Aegean Sea is actually called Thracian Sea of you look on a map. Herodotus himself says God Ares is the forefather of the thracian people. He says that Dionysus is a god borrowed from the Thtacians who created wine making. Orpheus is son to a Thracian king just Google it.

And all South Slavic languages were originally the same language Old Church Slavonic codified in the Bulgarian Empire. South Slavs is the Medieval name for the same ancient people (Thracians, Dacians, Illyrians etc.) who are a mix of Native Balkan and Indo Aryan but those two were also just the same, some just migrated more in ancient times and came back while others never left. One evidence that Slavs are the same as Ancient Balkan and Aryan is a Thracian Stone Relief of the "slavic" god Triglav from 2nd century AD. Long before slavs was a thing according to thr current misleading narrative. Triglav is a three headed god riding a horse and carrying labrys as a weapon. This is the same god from Rigveda, known threre as Trimutri - Tri meaning Three and Mutra meaning Head. In fact in Bulgarian the word Mutra is still used to say Head. The labrys (unique double edged axe) carried by Triglav is the symbol representing the thracian Odryssian Kingdom but it was also the symbol of the Minoan civilization. The Minoans were also the same Paleo Balkan people later known was Thracian, Dacian, Illyrian and these days as South Slavs, Romanians and Greeks. Modern Greeks are also genetically the same as the rest of the Balkans.

@vangelisskia214 Your first comment is correct but your confusion comes from the fact that you don't realize that Mycenaens aren't greek. It's a pelasgian kingdom and everyone in it referred to themselves by their tribe (Achean, Brigian, Thracian, Median, Mygdonian etc.) they didn't call themselves Mycenean nor Greek. Besides I think it's obvious because your first comment literally says Ancient Greeks (Danaan migrants) aren't genetically related to Mycenaens. The only justification to cal Mycenaens Greeks is because they were the native inhabitants of the region that we call Greece. Basically Classical Greeks just adopted a new identity to accommodate the levant migrants who adopted and altered their religion but genetically Classical Greeks stayed the same as all their neighboring brothers who they began calling non Greek uncivilized barbarians.

@hmldjr No he's right. There's a reason North Greece was never even planned to be part of the Greek country. Bulgaria lost the territory to Greece. But the thing is that before it even came to that the Great Powers probably planned it to become part of East Rumelia, the country made for the Byzantines, but it unified with Bulgaria without their permission before they could go through with it.

@horror11 Macedonians weren't allowed to participate in the Olympics because their territories were very far from Greece and they rarely interacted, they were considered outsider barbarians and non Greeks. Then Alexander the First (not the great) who was the first Macedonian ruler to take interest in internal greek affairs convinced the Greeks they were related since Alexander the First was from the lineage of Heracles who was a thracian/Macedonian but very glorified in Greek myth. That connection was deemed good enough to let them participate in the Olympics from that point going forward. More evidence that Macedonians weren't greek but rather the middle ground between Thracians and Greeks is that the Macedonians conquered Greece without remorse while they only expanded the empire into Thrace in relative agreement with the thracians, who were the primary source of infantry for Alexander the Great's conquest.

@horror11 Bruh Greek was just lingua franca like English is today. If they were Greek they wouldn't have their own Ancient Macedonian language. Look it up. Even Thracians spoke Greek to conduct trade with Greek polises. Roman emperors also spoke Greek alongside latin.

@horror11 What you described is a multiethnic state, you even explained how Macedonians aren't Greek but participate in Greek culture. Constantine the Great, Justinian the Great, Leo the Thracian and others were from the Balkans. They set the foundations of the East Roman Empire and Christianitianization. They didn't come much later as you say, non-Greeks were more prominent at the beginning and they laid the foundations of Constantinople which is named after a non-greek.

@horror11 You are very correct about Serbia and Bulgaria, the slavs formed their own states at that point in time. The Byzantine empire was predominantly Greek in the Medieval period.

Google: Vize, Wikipedia Vize served as a capital for the ancient Thracian tribe of the Asti, and was mentioned by several ancient authors Constantine's mother was a low class Bithynian because she wasn't greek but a native Bithynian. Bithiniya was named after the thtacian tribe Bithini to which she belonged to. Google the Bithini tribe. His father was either Tribalian or Thracian. Constantine is his christian name.

@horror11 Cyril and Methodius did not create the Cyrillic, they made the Glagolitic which stopped being used. The Cyrillic was made by the Bulgarian Climent of Ohrid.

@horror11 The Bulgarian rulers were christian even before the creation of Danube Bulgaria. Kan Kubrat was christianized by the Armenian Byzantine Emperor Heraclius. Kubrat lived his childhood in Constantinople in 630. His grandson Tervel married a Byzantine princess because he was already christian. 870 was only symbolic christianization of all common people who weren't christian already.

Dionysus is a thracian god borrowed by the Greeks, they even say so. He was originally known in Thrace as Zagreus. Thracians are the native inhabitants of the Balkans that long predate the arrival of the Greeks. They are arrested to have inhabited the Balkans as early as 5000 BC. I'm sure the connection you've made is very reasonable because in the past the Balkans, Anatolia, Persia, Mesopotamia, Afghanistan, Ukranian Steppe and North India had numerous migratory waves between each other, exchanges of people and culture.

@Darisiabgal7573 Besides advanced metallurgy began in the Balkan territories of the Paleo Thracians. The oldest processed bronze from 4500 BC is from Serbia and the first processed gold from 4600 BC was found in Bulgaria. Bronze Age began at that time in the Balkans much earlier than the rest of the world.

@Darisiabgal7573 Yeah? Thats why its called Prehistoric Europe Civilization because it existed before Sumer and Egypt who could have recorded their existence if they were around at that time. Whether it's recorded in writing or not, the civilization is attested by archeological records. Minoans and Thracian kin were the same ethnic group, thats why the Minoan Labrys was used as the symbol and logo of the Odryssian Kingsom.

@Darisiabgal7573 Okay I gotta say you I agree with a lot of what you said. The way I see it is that the root of all of these ancient civilizations began on the shores of the Black Sea which was once a lake. And now we argue on which side of it did it begin, the West in modern day Bulgaria, the North in Ukraine, the South in Anatolia or the East in Armenia next to the Caspian Sea. I really can't definitively say where exactly only that the Black Sea and the primary rivers around it is where it began.

@Sickboy-oe4qf The entire extent of the Acropolis was excavated down to bedrock (1885-1890), while restoration was initiated on a large scale: 1898-1902, the First Restoration Program of the Parthenon (that is, restoration of the opisthonaos and the west façade), 1902-1909, the restoration of the Erechtheion. The Acropolis was all ruins until it was rebuilt in the 19th century. What's seen today is modern construction reimagining what it looked like. It's a good thing it happened because it saved the craft of stone masons who carved the columns out of marble.

@Sickboy-oe4qf Ask your fellow Greeks. It set the foundations of Greek tourism which didn't exist before the 19th century. The Acropolis was completely destroyed from bomb detonations in the 16th century in the Ottoman Empire.

@Sickboy-oe4qf I'm aware of the narrative in the history books. I don't speak out of ignorance but research I've tested against the current theory which can't explain so many things. Almost all Olympian God names don't even have Greek etymology which means the Greek gods aren't originally Greek. Even Herodotus wrote that Dionysus was taken from the thracian religion and that Ares himself was the father of the thracians himself. This is common knowledge you can google it. Even Orpheus is son to a Thracian king named Oegarus according to ancient Greek writers.

@Sickboy-oe4qf No the mountain is named after the Pelasgian tribe Olimpeni. The name stayed the same even in Classical Greece times. Even mount Rhodope is named after a pelasgian tribe of Rhodopodoeri. Mygdonia is named after the Mygdoni tribe, Samothraci is named after the union of the tribes samoi and thraci, the Carpathian Mountains are named after the Carpi, Crestonia is named after the Krestoni, Hellas is named after the pelasgian tribe Heli whos patron god was Helios, Mysia is named after the Mysi, Phrygia is named after the Phrygi, Tynia is named after the Thyni, Thracia is named after the Thraci, Macedonia after the Macedoni tribe, Illyria after the Illyri etc. Ancient Greek texts tell is about the existence of these people in the lands named after them but Greek history books ignore them

Herodotus calls these original inhabitants Pelasgians but primarily only those who mingled with the Proto Greek migrants to produce Ancient Greeks. The rest later began being called Macedonians, Thracians, Dacians, Illyrians, Phrygians and others. Basically those who didn't mingle with Proto Greeks began being called barbarians and non Greeks even tho the Greeks were very related to them. Facts are proto Greeks left very little DNA because the natives they encountered outnumbered them a lot. The Greek culture and mythology you know is actually Native Pelasgian culture that got refreshed and rebranded as Greek. Basically you are more related to the Native Greeks (Pelasgians) than the Ancient Greeks (Pelasgians + Proto Greek Immigrants). So you are still Greek because you're ancestors are originally from Greece but in a different way than you imagined.

Before the Danaans arrival, the Balkans and West Anatolia were inhabited by the same native ethnic group with regional distinctions divided into tribes that fought with each other. The Trojan War was such conflict that formed two confederations of tribes that went to war against each other. One side enlisted the aid of the Danaan (Greek) immigrants. Aside from this participation the Illiad only concerns the Greeks because they are much more related to these Natives (Pelasgians, Thracians, Dacians, Ilkyrians, Getae) than the Greek immigrants that they mingled with because the immigrants were vastly outnumbered and left very little trace of their ancestry. Ancient Greeks was a new identity where some native people had mingled with the immigrants but even those who didn't became thinking of themselves as Greek or civilized. The Greek Mythology is just refreshed and rebranded Native Mythology that's why the Greeks and Thracians had the same religion where the only differences were the changes made by those who adopted the Greek identity. This is also the reason most Gods names and toponyms can't be explained in the greek language. Only some were translated while the rest stuck with their original names.

Mycenaens are what we call the Pelasgians who became organized in a state at that time while we refer to Pelasgians as those who predate it but they are the same people. Besides Myceneans didn't call themselves Mycenean, but probably by their tribe such as Achean, Brigian, Thracian etc.

@ChillakoC92 Hellenic mythology is refurbished native mythology. The Hellenic Greek language developed in this period of mixing between natives and pre-archaic Greek speakers who had arrived. They merged to form the Greek ethnos but mythology wise and genetically wise Greeks are closer to the native population than those who came and introduced the pre-archaic Greek language. I'm not saying Greeks aren't Hellenic, I'm saying what's associated with Hellenic is actually native - what Greeks would call barbarian. Even the name Hellenes comes from the name of the pelasgian tribe Helli inhabiting the region. They worshipped the older sun God Helios instead of Apollo who was introduced later with more ties and stories to archaic Greece. Plenty of ancient Greek authors discuss the pelasgian heritage and cannot agree wether they are Greeks, non-Greeks or half Greeks because they are one half of the Greek ethnogenesis but not it's entirety. It's a matter of perspective.

@ChillakoC92 I didn't say Greek and it's origin weren't Indo European. Both were Indo European languages where one was Hellenic and produced Hellenic. Scripts can't be classified to a language family as far as I know for example the latin alphabet is used for both romance and Slavic languages. Linear A and B were the local scripts while the Greek script came from the Phonecians who were non Greeks from a different region.

@ChillakoC92 Thank you for responding sensibly, I think you're etymology is correct. I think the hardest part is trying to recognize which words were inherited by the native language during the mixing and which come from the Greek language origin.

@vangelisskia214 Yes they were proto-Greeks (natives mingling with proto-Greeks) in the process of becoming the Ancient Greeks through the mixing of the native indo-european language and the hellenic language. It's theorized that the original hellenic language that arrived was wasn't indo-european in origin but became one when it combined with the native language to form mycenaean greek, the predecessor of the ancient greek language. What I'm pointing out is that the native population left a much bigger genetic trace than the hellenic speaker arrivals since they vastly outnumbered them. Both groups however adopted myscemean Greek in the process.

You're right. But not entirely. Some Native Europeans migrated to Central Asia, India and Iran establishing civilizations but later some of them returned back to Europe from places like India that's why they are called Indo-Europeans.

@Pan_European_Paganist_Movement But India originally didn't mean modern Indians, India was a European name for their kingdom on the Indus river. Even modern Indians want to rename the country to Bharat because India is not a name related to them.
