@msxcytb I've been following this research since the early 80s. Every few years - Oh we're so close! Give us more money! Fusion is a total scam. A lot of science is bullshit and only the scientists know it. Scam the gov't - pay your mortgage. What a joke. We all think priests and cops and scientists are paragons of integrity. The truth? It's ugly. .... Just face it.

@msxcytb Science is to be insanely curious or it has no integrity. Meanwhile we got these moralizing sociopaths who think that because capitalism isn't absolutely right we should replace it with something entirely wrong.

@msxcytb Fusion has been a practical way of scamming the gov't to pay scientists' mortgages for 3 generations now. And this idiot species can't run disaster-free fission. Let's leave that alone.

@msxcytb I'm talking about plant operation. We build them in earthquake zones. We build them near the Russian border. And then we man them with human beings - a species of fuck-ups. (I myself live within a pleasant 40-minute drive from Three Mile Island.) If we can build an absolutely foolproof plant - I'm on board. I don't EVER want to make martyrs for science out of whole populations. Let's see some more responsible designs - a focus on total safety. And plants have failed - so the focus has NOT been on total safety. Scientists are fuck-ups too.

@msxcytb The data doesn't show enough reason to believe in any solutions. But gov't exists to waste money - that I definitely believe. Give it any excuse - and call it a career in science.
