  1. I can only imagine that it's the liberal Sikh faction who caused this trouble. Religious liberals account for all disharmony within sects - all sectarian strife.

  2. Ms Sandhu In my opinion - the hardliners always represent the wisest way for sects to go - if the sect has any fundamental wisdom and righteousness about it at all. Religious liberals lack courage and cut deals with the devil - with secularists. Soon liberals lose all sight of God - joining forces with the devil and and turning on their own hardline brethren - which is the ultimate sin. In certain cases this might not be true - as in Islam - which is a demonic religion to begin with. But my impression of Sikhism is that it's a genuine religion of God.

  3. Ms Sandhu A sect thrives when its conservative and liberal factions get along. But the liberals are never content - always demanding more and more concessions - until the conservatives fear that the sect will end up standing for nothing at all. Conservatives turn hardline only after liberals lose control of themselves and threaten the very existence of the sect. So - sectarian strife is always the fault of the liberals - who always imagine themselves blameless. When sects break up - on account of liberal agitation - neither breakaway sect thrives - but at least the conservative one endures - while the liberal sect crumbles away.

I'm sure - however - if you look even deeper into this matter - about which I know nothing more than what you've told me here - you'll find that the liberals have been asking for too much and fomenting dissension. Whenever the liberals of a sect settle down - the conservatives settle down - and things get worked out. Liberals have a way of starting trouble and then shifting the blame for it. Wherever conservatives are acting up - it's that they've been sorely provoked by trouble-making liberals.

  5. SatnaamM Religious liberals value worldly fads over timeless wisdom. It's always been this way - everywhere. They're weak and easily corrupted by ungodly influences. I can only imagine that the conservatives want their own homeland so they can better control the laity's exposure to worldly corruption! And that's a good idea - so long as the liberals of the sect refuse to moderate their behavior and respect traditional ways. I'm sure the conservatives are taking this extreme step because they see the very existence of the sect at stake - thanks to liberal foolishness and misbehavior. The liberals of every sect need conscientiously to keep themselves in check. They got to become aware of how weak they are - how susceptible to bad influences and crazy ideas. And they have to repent of their desire to corrupt the whole sect with imported nonsense and change it so radically as to destroy it altogether.

  6. SatnaamM But what is the conservatives' motivation? I'm sure it's to better regulate the amount of worldly corruption that the laity is exposed to. And who within the sect is opposed to any sort of regulation? The liberals. It's got to be the same situation here as in every other sect - with few exceptions. Human nature is universal.

  9. Ms Sandhu I specifically excepted Islam from my remarks - because Islam is a political movement masquerading as a religion. As for the unreasonableness of Khalistan - to me that's the beauty of it. Here we would have a country that exists only to glorify God. Every country should be such! I wish there were a Christian theocracy somewhere for me to live in. No, it wouldn't be perfect. But at least it would guard the vulnerable against the wickedness of this evil world. And there is no more beautiful mission for a country to have. In any case - my main point is that wherever conservatives are becoming extreme - liberals have pushed them into it. Conservatives are otherwise very reasonable and easy to moderate. But liberals want only to destroy conservativism - not moderate it at all. So you can't blame conservatives for acting up - when liberals are threatening their very existence!
