@Shenouda_Abdiel he referred to Black Americans specifically not Africans who have a plethora of history behind their continent, what was the legacy of the slaves who were brought to the west ? What was their history?

@Téréné-g8k here's the thing, African Americans have no cultural similarities with their African cousins in Africa as it's been centuries since the colonial slave trade happened and even if there was some history that is certainly long gone as we don't see any Modern African Americans share any similar culture with Africans Africa had a huge diversity of African slaves in the past and its exactly why that cultural practices are long gone as modernization has made people abandon their culture, so the slaves who were brought to America essentially had their culture wiped away similar to how the modern native Americans have much less cultural practices which only a few remember

Black Americans accent came from the Southern states who enslaved them, check how Texan people talk English and u will understand the similarities

@Téréné-g8k Ancient Egyptians are not dark skinned and were more Arabic if u could stop your Afrocentric views, you can even ask the Egyptians whom they enslaved the most as they had a slave society which also included dark skinned people but the Egyptians were themselves Brown and Arabic and had many other dialects Egyptians were not sub Saharan so don't spread misinformation please

@Téréné-g8k so African Americans who had ancestors in the US for years do not have any cultural practices left from their African cousins as most of it was erased as white colonialism also makes sure to practice cultural genocide The logic that African Americans make is the same as claiming that ones race would mean ones culture would be the same yet cultures go extinct all the time with colonialism and it's disappointing to see African Americans claiming that other cultures which were vastly different from their ancestors is theirs African Americans need to build their own footnote in history as those African slaves who were brought to the US should have their stories told instead of cousins from distant lands who have vastly different practices

@Téréné-g8k i would argue you take different cultures from different countries not even the US and then claim it's from Africa? I'm sorry but the Carribbean is not American which usually refers to the US not African heritage, I say that the African culture among the general African American is much vastly different and very few may have African roots but overall most of the African American population in the US do not share any African heritage at least the majority of them as the culture has entirely been more American related I do apologise if I had created any misconceptions around the Americas as a whole as i only refer to the US and not the whole North American continent as I do believe some African cultures may have been descended Modern black culture in America is more modernized as i could take an example of rap culture (i would argue Rastafarians are close to African roots) is unique to them and same with other cultural practices which are mostly few in percentages Idk what ur origin is but I do assume ur from Central Americas and they obviously are much different in their cultural practices close to Africans but in the US alone the black population and the African roots their ancestors slaves had is not present anymore as the white majority had carried out mass indoctrination of their culture and essentially made them practice Christianity and other cultural practices that white Americans do

@Téréné-g8k if ur from Central Americas and not from the US then I can understand some African heritage but it is absurd from those African Americans in the US who believe that their ancestors were from Egypt cause it sounds like historical revisionism while denying the efforts carried out by black activists in history
