Republicans LOVE to leave out the fact that Trump had Rudy leak those drives to that Murdoch rag. And he demanded that letter be signed despite mentioning that he was the source of the leak. And nothing came out of that nothingburger laptop story even after 4+ years. If Trump really thought the data on it was incriminating he would have demanded that Wray and Barr investigate it. Sorry bud, but the laptop drama was yet another dubious attempt by Trump to use misinformation to win an election. Republicans are shameless.

He is a standard bearer for MAGA Republicans no matter how you want to classify him and MAGA Republicans are the target audience that Russia is trying to influence in this instance. And the goal of this psyop isn't primarily concerned with promoting Russia itself as a protagonist. The goal is to demonize Ukraine enough to help make the case that the US should stop helping Ukraine and that whatever happens to Ukraine after we cut them off, no matter how horrible, isn't worthy of our concern because they kinda deserved it in the first place. That's what all this is about. Getting vexed over proper labels only muddies the water.

The only defacto dictatorship in recent years in this context is when Trump tried to illegally overturn the election through his failed fake elector scam and trying to strongarm swing state election officials. Instead of resorting to deflection, the right needs to have a moment of reflection and seriously ask themselves why Russia wants the GOP to control the US Federal government.

Nobody believes with a straight face that Putin wants Harris to win. Dems aren't the ones holding up Ukraine aid in Congress. Dems aren't the ones saying that Russia had legitimate reasons for invading Ukraine. Dems aren't the ones grumbling about intra Ukranian politics to distract from talking about the illegitimacy of the invasion. And no, most people do not agree with the points made by Tenet Media. Conservatives are a minority in this country and for good reason. Civilizations never trend more conservative over time and so called conservative values tend to shift left over time. Hence why rightwing policies in Europe tend to be classified as center or center left in the States. Russia wants Republicans in power over the US Federal government. There is no disputing that fact.

Maybe "praising" (Putin) was too strong a word, but Tim has been downright nasty lately insulting Ukraine by saying that they are the enemy of the world. He said that the US should apologize to Putin for intervening. He has also falsely declared that Russia has essentially already won the war and that the US and other allies just need to admit it and move on. But Russia isn't winning. Since you admitted that RT might be funding antiwar content did it not occur to you that Russia is doing that so American citizens will demand that America stops helping Ukraine? Because that is EXACTLY what Russia wants. Putin wants Americans to think unfavorably of Ukraine so that they demand the White House to stop sending aid to Ukraine. That would make it much easier for Russia to take Kiev and then the rest of the country. Sorry that the truth hurts man, but Tim turned into a shill for Russia. Money changes people. Hopefully he will learn from this and pay more attention to what is being asked of him when he does business with other people.

I really wish people would stop pretending that the economy is bad. Unemployment is at record lows. Wages have exceeded inflation. Consumer sentiment is high. The stock markets are enjoying record highs, inflation has subsided and is lower than most westernized nations, gas prices are back down to $3 or so, interest rates are reasonable and likely to be reduced further soon. Republicans are the ones pretending that the economy is bad because they are mad that Trump isn't President. They are going to have to stay mad because he isn't going to win in November. Most Americans are fine with us continuing to support Ukraine and that isn't going to change anytime soon if ever.

Their tanks got so bogged down that they became sitting ducks long enough for Biden to step in and rally our allies to start sending weapons and equipment into Ukraine so they could push off impending wave of Russian forces. Had the roads been clear they would have seized Kiev quickly which would have completely changed the calculus. I'm not going to argue with you about who is currently winning but I don't agree that Russia is but this is not the right forum. I do agree with your assessment that a Russian victory would be a Pyrrhic one and I hope that reality influences Putin to make the decision to simply withdraw. At some point he has to understand that the law of diminishing returns will eventually put him in a situation where rebuilding the country would be too expensive and that an unhappy Ukranian populous would render his hold on the country very weak. This war has decimated his military capability and the patchwork of sanctions has hurt the Russian economy greatly. The Kremlin is bleeding out. The war needs to end.

Those agents did so covertly which is illegal. Are you suggesting that there were critics of the Iran and Afghanistan wars who were covertly paid by foreign agents to publish said criticism? If not then you are going off on a completely unrelated tangent. Nobody is going after anybody for being or not being critical of anything. This is about foreign agents who illegally withheld their intentions for the sake of influencing an election.

  41. Yeah, but once the Russians managed to put the bug in his head that Ukraine was "the bad guy" it became more likely that he would voice those sentiments wherever he was speaking. The license to place the one weekly video to the Tenet site was just the front that formed the basis for the licensing agreement. The Russian agents were really more concerned with getting him to voice tailored "opinions" that were unkind towards Ukraine wherever he went.
