  1. The day the Soviet Union collapsed NATO lost it's mission and reason. Yes we all need a new "nato-like" organization, but it is not to protect the "north atlantic". It should include Rusia as a partner, not a potential enemy. Having said that, Rusia could have played a smarter, less violent hand, and get better results. But they chosen to set the agenda back twenty years by invading Ukraine. Not cool, not the best move. What a replacement NATO should do is offer Rusia safety on it's western flank, and a promise of collaboration should a threat develop from the east.
