(private or government provided) The issue here is once again, the government's intromission into the sphere of childcare, schooling. The small chores that children can perform in a household, are now outlawed and chastised as "child labor", creating idle time to waste on duck face and tiktok Governments have created these problems. They have scammed workers from their money all along their productive life with taxes and social security. Retirement and pensions are run as ponzi schemes based on people dying before they can collect benefits, and later on an ever growing base of young workers to pay the deficit. Time and reality have shown it was all a scam. The simple solution is tax less, and let people channel their own money into charities, into near home schools, where their own parents are entrusted to instruct and also educate (there is a difference between instruction and education) the children. But any solution that starts with less government will be shouted down by the collectivists. (insert The Simpsons meme "will somebody think of the children".... "think of the elders"... "think of the etc" )

@crash.override If your argument is "unfortunate"... there is no mandate for government to average out "fortune" or "luck". Should we give social security to gamblers? If there is NO charity that likes you... you should examine your life and actions. Murderers are a "minority"....should we give charity to them? (newsflash... even murderers GET CHARITY!)

@ExtraordinaryWordSalad You hit the problem on the head when you say rural and agricultural. Old age folk are a problem in URBAN areas that have adopted the nuclear family. People that do not save must be left to suffer the consequences of their decisions. Less taxes will make mopre people to become ABLE to save. The social safety net already exists and it is a well known solution: Extended family. A family that extends beyond the nuclear family does find value in keeping the elderly around. As for the tiktok thing, we agree. Respectfully

@answerman9933 Exactly. People are living too long for the design and scams planned by politicians. It is NOT that I say people must die younger... to be clear...people are outliving the "plan"...but NOT MY PLAN... the government's plan

@richardarriaga6271 I am glad you are doing well. But the (relative) wealth of your extended family at this moment is not the issue. The thing is what happens to YOU when YOU are older and YOU become the "extended" part of your children nuclear family.

@richardarriaga6271 strawman argument: When did I condemn them "forever"? My point is: if YOU want to feed, forgive and give charity to murderers... YOU can do more of that if YOU paid LESS taxes.
