  2. Tesla pranked Ford. Just announcing the Cybertruck years ago sent Ford scrambling to produce an electric Pickup. Tesla may not "know" what a pickup is, or what the pickup customer wants...but Ford does.

  3. I hear you. And it is not meant to do truck work. The Cybertruck objective is to scare Ford. Forcing Ford to make a propper EV pickup is the best prank ever played.

  4.  @andylucas5770  That would have been another way. But not radical enough. Also, consider that maybe Tesla left Rivian alone so that it could be Ford's "plan b"

  5.  @pryme2013  they're not scared anymore. But Ford GOT scared into producing the Lightning. And yes, you are right. Ford knows how to make pickups, they know the customer, they now the market, they have the volume...only a slight pat in the rear sent them down the EV path. Respectfully.
