Today: Here is a disposable, deep penetration, unmanned drone that fires missiles to improve pilot survival. We have been working on it for four years. The engine is already proven, the sensors and data link already works. No biggie.

HMMMM 1- So let's grant that the ship is "stealthy" ...firing missiles that have an IR signature so large that it can be seen from space will blow your cover. 2- We already have better stealth technology: submarines 3- We already have quieter ships: submarines 4- Firing large missiles that can be mistaken for a nuclear ICBM launched from a submarine creates an unnecesary risk of escalation 5-21:22 If the glide missile has 1000 miles of range.... why do you need stealth? Fire from a regular ship. not in love with this idea

  8. 10:40 "air superiority" is an admission of failure, from the gate. The USAF used to aspire for air SUPREMACY, not mere "superiority". And the budget matched that ambition. Now they want a "supremacy" budget, to achive "superiority" outcomes. The fact that it's blurred is that supremacy will no longer be viable. And the trend is towards parity. Against many actors, not just peer nations.

  9. My two cents: 6th gen fighters will be manned but not piloted. The human on board will monitor and control multiple drones, but his own airplane will fly itself, same as the drones around him. 6th generation's hallmark will be HANDS OFF fly by wire.
