  1. The nuclear bombs stopped the russian tanks from rolling all the way to Spain. If the nuclear bombs were not dropped, Stalin would have not partitioned Germany. They would just continue driving south. In a "reverse Napoleon" campaign, the weather and the terrain keep getting better as you go south. No allied plane could reach the Urals to bomb the T34 factories. France and England could not hold alone. The US would have had to make a bad deal with Japan to defend Europe.
