"my plane", "my controls" or even "get your stinking paws off the controls" are much better CRM than "stop stop"

BOEING many years ago: Let no new improvement in flying and flying equipment pass us by. ~ William Boeing. BOEING today: EICAS? we don't need no stinking EICAS

@johniii8147 yep 👍... The 757 replacement is exactly at the gap where all these variables breakdown: aluminium/composites, one aisle/two aisles, more electric/traditional hydraulics. Even wing design balance for cruise / climb becomes tricky if you plan for several flights per day. I am fully expecting to be impressed by how they crack this nut!

@chrismckellar9350 totally agree... the problem is that Boeing "did something" for the sake of "doing something".... and we got the Max 😁

Par for the course in LatAm politics and wasteful government decisions.

The technologies that make the 787 do not scale down. The generators, cables, insulation, batteries of the "more electric" airplane concept become (proportionally) too heavy when applied to a 757 replacement.

Narrowbodies for developed countries, flying point to point between a large network of regional airports Widebodies for emerging countries, with large populations and limited infrastructure, with few airports and only large hubs The real fight is now between centralized control (hubs) and decentralization (point to point) at a political level. If the political class wants to mantain control, they will pass laws making the point to point model impossible.

Demonstrating that management is just high paid fortune tellers.

This would be smart. This may be a kill shot for the E-jets

@jaysmith1408 yep. And ATR/Leonardo has already said that there is no demand or reason to develop an improved ATR, much less a new airframe. For reasons that are beyond me, the regional market is in a deep slump. 👍

@johniii8147 Cool. Are these the ones with the titanium center beam? (the "terrible teens")
2
@stevegiboney4493 you mean the aircraft that crashed twice because of a design flaw and spent two years grounded?
1
@miguelusaf13 like I said... par for the course.
1
@texasabbott exactly... the Ejets cant compete NOW... and with engine options the A220 will become much more desirable.

Are more runways and terminals cheaper than fleets of A380s? The issue is that airports are GOVERNMENT owned, even if privately built and operated. The A380 is a PRIVATE sector solution to the inefficiencies caused by government restrictions (zone planning, connectivity, land use)

IMO... One of the hulls may be the VIP bought and never used for Mexico's presidential fleet.
