I do grant that this would be a millitarily impossibility. You do NOT want to pick a fight against the red army in May 1945. What took two years to occur (on both sides of the iron curtain) was changing public's hate from one enemy to another. "eurasia has always been at war with Oceania" kind of thing. regards
