Solid content Revisionists want to install the idea that "unconditional surrender" meant "humiliating extermination" This is a strawman argument. Terms and conditions were hashed out for Operations Manna, Chowhound and Faust. Reasonable acts were paid with reasonable action. If the Nazi government had declared an unilateral cease fire, pulled back to the 1939 borders, and left behind all aircraft and artillery, the war could have ended two years earlier, saving millions of lives. But the Nazi government did not. The Nazi government didn't want to take the political cost of this decision. They rather see the country razed to the ground. Nero decree and all.
