This island is like a hill. If you can't have it, it must be denied to the enemy. Rusia now knows that it is cheaper to deny than to occupy, I would bet they have "poisoned the well "

Czech republic is also NATO. From the Russian point of view jumping thru all these hoops doesn't change that. My guess is that these will be left in rear positions and new(er) equipment would be freed for the frontline. There must be a very long string attached to this items.

@johnhudghton2287 I understand and agree with what you are saying. Had they been "regular" troops, they would have waited for 5:1 ratio, some armor and maybe artillery support. Paras perform well, the high casualty is usually a result of poor planning, para's light weaponry or misuse of the resource in pitched dug in battles. Respectfully

I am sure there is some valuable important information in this video. The presentation and the structure are not on par with other videos on this channel.

There is also the british Paras in the Falklands. They did perform well, but also took high casualties

I see Chieftain, I click the video. If it's in MilHistVis, so much better.

My two cents. The "main battle tank" is no more because there are no "main battles" of tanks (a lá Kursk) anymore. It was never about the weight, armour, speed or gun of the tank itself . It was about what tank will you produce in numbers to throw into a MAIN BATTLE between tanks. (Fulda gap)

You can't send an armored core without air superiority. The thing of combined arms is that they rely on each other. The whole in not only larger than the sum of the parts, there is nothing until all the part are there.
