  2.  @domcizek  not exactly. Inflation is the pace of change in prices, not the level of prices. Even if prices remain high (highER than before) inflation can be reduced. Prices don't have to fall back to the previous level to control inflation.

  3.  @domcizek  if supply and demand are the cause of inflation, how come ALL items are going up? Is the supply chain for oranges affected by staffing or chip supply? Or is imported Saudi oil dependent on US employment levels? Inflation can only be caused by money printing. And it can only be controlled by stopping the printers . Inflation has effects on supply and demand, but supply and demand do not create inflation.
