Perhaps the initial attempt at Kiev was to have a bargaining chip to trade for control of Kherson and a solid bridgehead north of the river Strategically, the initial failure to secure that chip made holding to Crimea impossible So I put forward that there will be a new Russian offensive (somewhere else) to capture (something) that can be traded for "let me keep Crimea" Where the lines stand today, there are no stable, peaceful outcomes.
