The problem is that when humans ask the question of "what is life", we see the question itself with our limited perception of ourselves. Similarly, we are the dominant and most inteliigent spieces (ejem!) of the planet, because we are the ones making up the questions and grading the answers. Talk about rigging the system. ..

Imagine that. Making observations, hypothesis, and having evidence contradict the hypothesis. It's like it is a process, a method, and it is never settled science™

@dffndjdjd I usually take the position that "we never know"... this is just the best guess we have to date, that fits as much of the data that we can. 😁

The wide mouth with large(er) cheeks and teeth may affect vocalization and hinder development of language. It may even be that they ate, regurgitated, and chewed the cud like bovines, which would change the larinx so much that they could not develop language at all.
