  2. Sanctions won't work when the EU and Russia continue to trade thru 3rd parties like India. Russia can also outsource goods from the world's largest trading nation, China. Furthermore, Russia is self sufficient on foods, raw materials and basic necessities.

  13. @Nana Huang US can make up trade deficit by selling agricultural products, high techs, financial products and services. Trump bans all high tech machineries, computer chips and services to China in the name of National Security. That explains why trade deficits are getting larger.

  15. China has many sources of energy supply from Middle East, Africa, Russia, Indonesia, Mongolia, US and its own Coal reserve. This would temporary affect China energy supply in short term. However, China is diversifying its fossil fuels to wind, solar, hydro and nuclear power in mid to long term planning. Again, China speed and adaptive technology will help and assist the west to achieve goals to reduce reliance on fossil fuel.

  36. @eggs bacon Little do you know China is building hundred of Nuke power plants in mid to long term plans. It is the leader in producing solar, wind and green energy too. In addition, it is building more hydro energy while building more efficient coal plant to replace inefficient dated coal plant. China is confident to deal with challenge rather than hyping up slogan to impress the world but doing nothing.
